Closes: Thursday, September 12, 2024 at 10:15 AM

FORMAT 

This championship will be a 36-hole stroke-play championship followed by a match play bracket.  Competitors will be broken up into flights based on handicap index.  At the end of 36-holes, net and gross prizes will be awarded.   After 36-holes of stroke play, the top eight ladies from the championship division will move onto an eight-lady match play bracket. The quarterfinal matches will be played on the morning of day 3 followed by semifinal matches in the afternoon with the final match to be played on day 4.  The Senior Women’s State Amateur Champion will be determined by the winner of the eight-lady bracket. 

 

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

Wednesday, September 25: Tee times starting at 9:00am

Thursday, September 26: Re-pair based on Round 1 standings; 9:00am shotgun start w/ lunch following the round

Friday, September 27 AM: Quarterfinal matches

Friday, September 27 PM: Semifinal matches 

Saturday, September 28: Championship match

 

FIELD SIZE

84 Women Maximum

 

ELIGIBILITY

All female members of the UGA age 50+ who have a Handicap with the UGA as of the registration deadline.

 

STARTING TIMES

Starting times will be e-mailed to players after the registration deadline has passed. 

 

PRACTICE ROUNDS

Competitors will be eligible to play one practice round on either 9/23 or 9/24. These are the only dates available with no exceptions due to base access. They may schedule by calling the golf shop. Competitors are responsible for all practice round fees.

FLIGHT INFORMATION

The field will be broken into flights determined using the September 17th handicap revision. Gross and Net winners will be awarded.

REFUNDS & WITHDRAWALS  

If a player withdrawals prior to the registration deadline the player will receive a refund minus a $20 cancellation fee.  After the deadline, the player will receive a 50% refund.  Beginning the day before the event, no refunds will be issued if a player withdraws or no shows (For Example, if an event begins on Monday, any withdrawal starting on Sunday will result in no refund). A business day starts at 12:01 am of that day.   In team competitions, if a player needs a substitute for his original partner after the field has closed; he must arrange to get the substitute. Any substitute must meet all eligibility requirements of the specified competition. The UGA must be notified of any substitutions prior to the start of the tournament.
