AMATEUR ELIGIBILITY
The 54-Hole Vancouver Open Championship is open to Male and Female Professionals and for Amateurs with a current GOLF CANADA, USGA or World Golf Handicap index of 26.0 or less. The event will offer both WORLD AMATEUR GOLF RANKING (WAGR) POINTS, as well as points towards the 2024 SRIXON/CLEVELAND Order of Merit on the Vancouver Golf Tour.
AMATEUR REGISTRATION
- PRIORITY REGISTRATION – OPENS WEDNESDAY, JUNE 12th (12PM PST)
- Given to Amateur golfers who made the cut in the 2023 Vancouver Open
- Given to past Vancouver Open Amateur Champions
- Given to 2024 VGT Members in good standing.
- Players with priority registration have until June 26th @ 11:59pm PST to register with priority.
- Registration for priority entries will be taken on a first come, first paid basis.
- If the event is not full as of the end of the day on June 26th, Amateur entries without priority above will be accepted based on a first come, first paid basis.
- NON-PRIORITY REGISTRATION – OPENS THURSDAY, JUNE 27th (6AM PST)
- Amateurs who do not hold priority registration are asked to register as early as possible. Their registrations will be held as ‘pending’ until the end of the day on June 26th and will be admitted into the tournament if the field is not full with priority entries. AMATEUR COMMITTEE EXEMPTIONS
The Vancouver Open Committee will extend a limited number of 8 Amateur exemptions to elite Amateur golfers who do not fit into one of the 2 priority registration categories above. Elite Amateurs are asked to submit an email applying for an exemption by July 30th, addressed to the Vancouver Open Tournament Committee at info@vancouvergolftour.com. Players are asked to attach their playing history from the past 3 years.
PROFESSIONAL ELIGIBILITY
54-HOLE CHAMPIONSHIP
The 2024 Odlum Brown Vancouver Open is open to all VGT, PGA of Canada, PGA Tour America’s Professionals and “Mini-Tour” Professionals. Non-carded Professionals are required to provide prior Amateur or Mini Tour playing records to verify their playing ability. Please email info@vancouvergolftour.com with this information at time of submitting your entry.
PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATION
- PRIORITY REGISTRATION - Opens WEDNESDAY JUNE 12th @ 12PM PST
Priority registration is being given to 2024 VGT Professional Members in good standing, past Vancouver Open Champions + the top 40 Professionals in the 2023 Vancouver Open. Players who fit into these categories have until June 26th to register with priority. After this time, the event will be open to Professionals who do not hold priority registration. Approved entries will be taken on a first come, first paid basis.
PROFESSIONAL COMMITTEE EXEMPTIONS
Eight (8) special exemptions for Professionals are available. Professionals are asked to submit an email applying for an exemption by July 30th, addressed to the Vancouver Open Committee at info@vancouvergolftour.com. Players are asked to attach their playing history from the past two years.

ENTRIES CLOSE: FRIDAY AUGUST 2nd, 2024 @ 6PM or when the event is full. Pros have until August 2nd to register before we invite Amateurs waiting on the pending list. If we do not fill the field of 100 Pros by August 2nd, Pending Amateurs will be admitted into the field.

*$55,000 Purse is based on a full field of 100 Pros. $12k first place is based on a min. of 65 Pros.
*$110,000 total Purse & Prizing includes Amateur Tee-gifting & Pro-Am Prizing (based on full field)
NOTE: The Pro Purse will be split between Men’s & Women’s Pro Divisions based on field size. For example, if 80 Male Pros & 20 Female Pros register, the Male Pro Purse = $44,000 & Women’s Pro Purse = $11,000 and vice versa. If less than 5 female Pros register to play in this year’s event, female Professionals will play against the male Professionals for the full Pro Purse from a tee yardage approximately 15% shorter than the Male Pro tee length.

The 54-Hole Championship includes:
- $150/player in Amateur welcome gifts and prizing

- One (1) round at McCleery Golf Course

- Opportunity for reduced green fee rate for practice round the week of the event

- 50% of the Amateur Field and 50% of the Professional field will be guaranteed to play 54-Holes of Competition including the final round at Fraserview Golf Course.
- If less than 312 players register, a higher % of amateurs will be included in the cut-line to play on Sunday.
- Bagged Lunch is provided each day you compete in the tournament (sandwich, drink, apple, cookie or Snack bar)
- Driving range and short game warm-up is available to all competitors in the tournament field.

36-HOLE CUT
The 54-Hole Championship will have a 36-Hole Cut for both Professionals and Amateurs. Details of how the cut is determined in each category is outlined below.
PROFESSIONALS
The top 50% of the Professional field + ties will make the 36-Hole cut to play Sunday. The top 35% of the Professional field will be paid out.
If there are 5+ female Professionals in the field, the top 40% of female Professionals + ties make the cut to play Sunday.
If there are fewer than 5 female Professionals registered, these female Professionals will compete against all male Professionals from an equitable distance (approx. 15% shorter) and qualify for the 36-hole cut in an ‘Open’ Professional field (men & women competing together).
The TOP FEMALE Professional to make the cut will be guaranteed a $1,000 cheque sponsored by MAUI JIM CANADA.

SENIOR DIVISION: Players who have turned 55+ years of age as of August 18th (with a factor of 9.0 or less) are eligible to compete in the Senior Championship. Players in this category wishing to compete for the Senior Championship are required to select “Senior Division” (55 years+) during the online registration process. If you choose to play in the Senior Division, you will not compete in your own flight for prizing.
If we do not receive notice of a player’s intention to play in the Senior Division at time of online registration, players will revert to their own handicap flight for determining the 54-hole cut and prizing in their own flight.
Note: If less than 5 Women’s Senior registrations are received, Senior Women will compete in the Overall Senior Division on an equitable yardage versus Male Senior Golfers.
All Abilities Golf Championship:
Entries for the Vancouver Open All Abilities Golf Championship are open to the first 24 golfers who are: from all disability categories with a nationally recognized golf handicap index of not more than 36.0 and who have an Access Pass or a WR4GD Pass.
Players will compete together in a pan-disability format. Only the points earned by players who have a WR4GD Pass will be added to the Ranking.

NON-EXEMPT PROFESSIONALS:
There will be a minimum of 30 non-exempt Professional player spots available for the 2024 Vancouver Open. A minimum of the first 30 non-exempt Professionals to confirm their registration with payment will be guaranteed entry in the 2024 Vancouver Open field. If by June 25th the field is not full with exempt Professionals, all remaining eligible non-exempt Pros will be admitted into the tournament.

The following players are exempt into the field and have their entries secured until June 25th, 2024. All exempt players must confirm entry fee payment by midnight on June 25th for their entries to be prioritized. After such a time, the field will be open to all players who have registered with payment on a first come, first paid basis.

Category 3: Committee Exemptions (8 exemption spots). If you fail to register in time to receive one of the 30 ‘non-exempt’ spots we have in the field, please email your request for an exemption into the 2024 Vancouver Open to info@vancouvergolftour.com, attention Vancouver Open Exemption Committee. Please provide your playing resume in the email.
NOTE: Players from Category 1-3 have until June 25th, 2024 to confirm their registration on the VGT Member Portal (members) and finalizing payment (all players) to guarantee their entry in the field.
All players registrations will show as ‘pending’ until their entry is confirmed with an auto-email letting you know your status has been moved from ‘wait list’ to ‘confirmed in player roster’. Any non-exempt player who pays for their entry and does not gain entry into the field will have their entry refunded in full.
Any player who registers for the Vancouver Open and gains entry into a PGA TOUR, KORN FERRY or PGA TOUR CANADA event on the same week as the Vancouver Open will have their entry fee refunded in full.
If the field is full at 100 Pros, but not full at 212 Amateurs by the deadline of Aug.2nd (and if we have additional Professionals on the wait list beyond 100), we will fill the event with all remaining Pros on the wait list. The same applies if we are not full at 100 Pros by Aug.2nd, and if we have a wait list of amateurs above the 212 allowed in the field, we will fill the field with Amateurs on pending list.
NOTE: Any player who enters with payment and does not gain entry will have their entries refunded in full.
TOURNAMENT WITHDRAWAL POLICY
All Players must provide at least 14 days’ notice at 6pm PST to qualify for a full refund of their entry.
ALL PLAYERS must confirm their withdrawal through their golf genius player profile and follow up with an email to info@vancouvergolftour.com by the deadline.
Players who provide less than 14 days’ notice for their withdrawal, but more than 7 days notice will qualify for a refund less $100 + GST admin fee.
Players who do not provide 7 days of notice of their withdrawal will forfeit their full entry fee. In this scenario, if we manage to fill a player’s position in the field with a player from the waitlist, withdrawn players will receive a full refund on their entry less $100+GST admin fee.
Players who register for the Vancouver Open and subsequently qualify for a KORN FERRY TOUR or PGA Tour Canada event (that conflicts with the Vancouver Open) will have their entry fees fully refunded, as long as VGT is notified in writing to info@vancouvergolftour.com more than 72 hours in advance and a player receives confirmation of this email.
Failure to notify VGT more than 72 hours in advance will result in the normal withdrawal policy applying above.

PRACTICE ROUND OPPORTUNITIES
A limited number of practice round tee-times have been blocked at all 3 Vancouver Open host courses for confirmed 2024 Vancouver Open participants. Each golf course will be provided with the confirmed player list to approve these rates. If your name is not on the participant list, you will not be eligible to book into these practice round timeslots posted below.
As of August 2nd, confirmed 2024 Vancouver Open participants can call in to the respective golf shop to book a practice round at the reduced posted rate below (weekday twilight rate) being offered at each course.
The following dates and timeslots will be reserved for practice rounds and offer these special rates:
August 19,20,21 & 22:
All courses each day 1:33pm, 1:42pm,1:51pm, 2:00pm
(Except for Fraserview on Aug.21st, where no tee-times will be available due to the Van Open Charity Pro Am).
Practice round Rates:
The City is offering the Weekday Twilight rate for all practice rounds on the above noted days and timeslots.
Fraserview: $58.25+tx
McCleery: $54.75+tx
Langara: $53.50+ tax.
A reminder to all players that the city golf courses do not allow walk- along players or caddies for practice rounds! No exceptions!!
PROFESSIONALS
Professionals will be charged the same above rate as Amateur players unless they are PGA of BC Professionals in good standing. If they are a PGA of BC Professional in good standing, they will receive a PGA industry rate of $25+tx during these timeslots.
Unfortunately, VGT Professionals, or Pros with other tour cards are not eligible for the industry rate as they are not employed in the Golf industry.
The above blocked times are on a first come, first serve basis as of 12PM on August 2nd.
For all other dates and timeslots, players will be required to follow standard booking procedures online and pay the posted fee shown online.
