The 2024 VGT PITT MEADOWS OPEN is an 18-Hole stroke play championship hosted at Meadow Gardens Golf Club on May 9th.  The event is open for Male & Female Amateur Golfers in Flights 1-3 with handicap index of 5.1 to 26.0.

This event is a counting event for official points on the 2024 SRIXON/CLEVELAND ORDER of MERIT where $10,000 in Amateur year-end prizing will be awarded at the Tour Championship!

All players must create a VGT Player Profile in Golf Genius to be eligible to play the 2024 VGT Season.

Priority Registration for Members – until Wednesday April 24th @ Midnight.

VGT Members have priority registration over non-members until April 24th at midnight PST.  Non-Members are asked to register as early as possible to establish priority waitlist status.  Their registration will show as pending and if the event is not full as of April 24th at Midnight,  non-members will be admitted in order of the date their registration was received in golf genius.

Full Field Size:  80 Amateurs

Eligibility: This event is open to Male & Female Amateur Golfers with official hcp. Index of 5.1 to 26.0. 

 

TOURNAMENT ENTRY INCLUDES:

  • 18-hole stroke play tournament at Meadow Gardens Golf Club ($99)

Prize Payouts:

Players will be entered into the appropriate division based on their current handicap index at or around the registration deadline, and prizing will be based on alternating gross & net scores. 

The top 25% of each division will make the prize table. 

Projected Handicap Flights are broken down as follows:

Flight 1: Hcp index of 5.1 to 10.0 (Men & Women combined)

Flight 2: Hcp factor of 10.1 to 16.0 (Men & Women combined)

Flight 3: Hcp index of 16.1 to 26.0 (Men & Women combined)

 

*NOTE: Due to the limited field size of this event, female golfers will play against players from their own handicap flight.  In these cases, women will be provided with an equitable yardage to play against their male handicap peers (12-15% shorter).

 

ENTRY FEES:

VGT Member: $175+GST = $183.75

Non-member: $225+GST = $236.25

 

NET SKINS GAME: $20/player (optional)

To play, please add $20 skins payment when registering)

The Net Skins Game will be for all 3 divisions (combined).  If you enter the skins game, this also qualifies you for the $5,000 Hole-in-one jackpots on course that day!

All Amateur prize winners will receive an email summarizing the results and gift card values won.  Players will be issued a gift card code to shop online at www.myvgt.com. If a player wins more than one time per year, the value won will be added to the same gift card code originally won for the 2024 summer schedule.  A new gift card code will be issued for the 2024-25 winter tour season.

Men’s Flight 1, 2 & 3: 6,000 yards

Women’s Flight 1,2 & 3: 5,200 yards

Tee times start at 11:30am – 2:40pm.

Order of Divisions: Division 3, 2 then 1.

Order of Merit (OOM) points will be awarded in each handicap division.

The Amateur OOM will be based on the following point system for a full field.  Order of Merit Points may be modified in any given event based on relative field size:

ALL AMATEUR DIVISIONS:

Points will be awarded based on alternating gross & net scores within your division as follows

1st Gross: 1500 pts

6th Gross: 300 pts

1st Net: 1,100 pts

6th Net: 250 pts

2nd Gross: 1,000 pts

7th Gross: 225 pts

2nd Net: 800 pts

7th Net: 200 pts

3rd Gross: 700 pts

8th Gross: 175 pts

3rd Net: 600 pts

8th Net: 150 pts

4th Gross: 500 pts

9th Place: 125 pts

4th Net: 450 pts

9th Net: 100 pts

5th Gross: 400 pts

10th Place: 75 pts

5th Net: 350 pts

PROGRESSIVE HOLE-IN-ONE JACKPOT

(CURRENT JACKPOT = 2 x $5,000 HOLE-IN-ONE PRIZES – as of Mar4, 2023)

 

JACKPOT RULES:

  1. In order to qualify for the Hole-in-one (H.I.O) JACKPOT offered at a VGT event, a player must be entered into the $20 skins game/hole-in-one pot for that event.  If there is no winner of the hole-in-one at VGT event, the current hole-in-one pot will carry over to the next event until we have a winner of the jackpot.  If by the end of the Winter Tour the jackpot has not been won, the current jackpot will be carried over into the Summer Tour schedule commencing on April 5th, 2024
  2. If the jackpot accumulates to $5,000, it will be cut-off at $5,000 and the first eligible person (see above) to score a hole-in-one on an eligible jackpot hole will receive the $5,000 payout.  A secondary Hole-in-one purse will be started as soon as the original jackpot reaches $5,000.  From the time the original purse reaches $5,000, moneys collected for the H.I.O purse will accumulate in this secondary pot while the first pot remains at $5,000. The secondary pot will continue to grow until the next eligible player scores a hole-in-one on the designated jackpot hole at a VGT event.  The maximum H.I.O purse paid out at any time will be $5,000, and once the pot has reached $5,000, a 3rd and 4th purse (and so on) will be established for future winners.
  3. Due to the skill difference of Pros versus the Amateurs in the field, we level the playing field for the JACKPOT two ways:
    1. By allowing the Flight 1,2 and 3 amateurs to tee-off a shorter designated tee-box at various times compared to Professionals and Championship Amateurs.
    2. VGT hosts numerous Amateur only events where Amateurs have a chance to win the JACKPOT without Pros in the field.
