41st NJSGA Mid-Amateur Championship

The following players are exempt from sectional qualifying for the 41st Mid-Amateur Championship provided they submit their entry prior to the closing date and meet

all other eligibility requirements:

 

  1. Champions of the previous ten NJSGA Mid-Amateur Championships (2014-2023).
  2. Champions of the previous ten NJSGA Amateur Championships (2014-2023).
  3. Champions of the previous ten NJSGA Open Championships (2014-2023).
  4. All players reaching the semi-final round of the 2023 Mid-Amateur Championship.
  5. The top five Mid-Amateur golfers (age 25 and above) in the final standings of the 2023 NJSGA Amateur Player of the Year Points List.
  6. If eligible, the 2023 champions of the:
    1. NJSGA Senior Amateur
    2. NJSGA Pre-Senior Amateur
    3. NJSGA Men’s Public Links
    4. NJSGA Senior Open
    5. MGA Amateur (Match Play)
    6. MGA Ike (Stroke Play)
    7. MGA Mid-Amateur
    8. GAP Amateur (Match Play)
    9. GAP Patterson Cup (Stroke Play)
    10. GAP Sr-Amateur
  7. If eligible, qualifiers for the:
    1. 2023 US Senior Open
    2. 2023 US Amateur
    3. 2023 US Senior Amateur
    4. 2023 US Mid-Amateur
    5. 2024 US Open (Final Qualifying)
  8. The Low Amateur in the:
    1. 2023 NJSGA Open Championship
    2. 2024 NJSGA Senior Open Championship
  9. The 2023 South Jersey Cup Amateur Champion.
  10. The champion of the previous three GAP Mid-Amateur Championships (2022-2024)
  11. The champion of the previous three MGA Mid-Amateur Championships (2021-2023)
  12. The 2024 MGA Sr. Amateur Champion.
  13. The low three mid-amateur finishers (plus ties) of the 2023 NJSGA Men’s Public Links Championship.
  14. The reigning club champion, who’s a member in good standing of Union League, or the club’s designee.

 

 

ELIGIBILITY: 

Entries open to male amateur golfers who meet ALL of the following:

- Entrant must be 25 years of age as of June 4, 2024.

- Entrant must possess UNQUESTIONABLE Amateur Status.

- Entrant meet ALL of these Handicap and Membership Requirements:

- Hold a USGA Handicap Index of 7.0 or less, as of the close of entries, at a NJSGA member club/course. He must be listed on this club’s GHIN Handicap Roster.

- Maintain good standing and remain on the above Handicap Roster through the Championship proper.

- If entering from a public facility, or Club Without Real Estate, entrant must be a permanent resident of New Jersey. Proof of residency may be required.

 
CHAMPIONSHIP FORMAT: 
Stroke Play to Match Play. An 18-hole, Stroke Play qualifying round will be held on Tuesday, June 4. The low 16 scorers will advance to two days (four rounds) of Match Play. The round of 16 and quarterfinals will be held on June 5; the semifinals and championship matches will be held on June 6. The Championship field will consist of 60 players, including those who are exempt from qualifying plus those who advance from the two separate 18-Hole Qualifying Rounds (plus ties).

Transportation:

Motorized transportation is PERMITTED at qualifying sites only at an additional cost to players.

Motorized transportation is PROHIBITED at the championship proper.

Caddies: Permitted; a player may bring his own caddie – or where available, reserve a club caddie.
Pull/Push Carts: Refer to specific Player Information Sheet for host club’s policy.

FINAL DECISION REGARDING ACCEPTANCE OF ENTRIES IS AT THE DISCRETION OF THE NJSGA. THE NJSGA RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REJECT OR WITHDRAW AN ENTRY AT ANY TIME, BEFORE OR DURING A COMPETITION OR MODIFY THE CHAMPIONSHIP PROGRAM ANYTIME, IN ITS DISCRETION.
