Championship conducted to determine the top female Junior amateur in Louisiana for 2024.

REFUND POLICY: Entry fee will be refunded regardless of reason if LGA office is notified, in writing, before the close of entries. After the close of entries, fee will be refunded only in the event of injury or illness provided notification (accompanied by a doctor’s statement) reaches LGA office by July 9, 2024. A $25 service charge will be deducted from all refunds.

Eligibility:  Entries are open to any female, Louisiana resident (as of at least 90 days prior to the Championship) who is an amateur golfer (as defined by the USGA) and is a member of a LGA Member Club in good standing (2024 club and individual dues must be paid). Entrants must be 12 years of age by midnight, July 10, 2024, and cannot have reached their 19th birthday by midnight, July 12, 2024. Non-amateurs are not eligible. Entries are subject to rejection at any time (including during the championship) by the LGA. Reasons for rejection may include unbecoming conduct. 

 

Course Set-Up: 

Field/Format of Play: Limited to the first 156 entries. Girls Overall Championship (54 hole tournament/July 10-12). The Girls' Junior Championship will be conducted over 54-holes and is open to any junior girl age 12-18. 


Dress Code, Competitors must be neat in appearance and wear appropriate attire.  Important Note: Mallard Golf Club is a spikeless facility and all competitors will be required to wear spikeless shoes. 


Caddies: Competitors will not be permitted to use caddies. All participants will carry their own clubs.  Pull carts will be permitted.


Practice Privileges: Practice privileges are extended to participants in the Championship at Mallard Golf Club on July 9.


Prizes: Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in the Girls Overall Championship. The LGA Girls' Junior Amateur Champion is also extended an invitation to participate in the 2024 Junior River Cup.  The Champion will also receive a $200 gift certificate redeemable at the Mallard Golf Club Shop.

Rules of Golf: Play will be governed by the current USGA Rules of Golf and LGA Rules of Play Card. All questions will be settled by the LGA Rules Committee, whose decision will be final. Automotive transportation (carts) and/or caddies will not be permitted.

WAGR: As part of their expanding relationship to govern the game globally, the USGA partners with the R&A in compiling and publishing the World Amateur Golf Rankings (WAGR). The LGA Amateur Championship is a WAGR counting event, and the results will be sent to the R&A in St Andrews, Scotland. A primary purpose of the WAGR is to provide exemptions into USGA and R&A amateur championships for top ranked amateur golfers. The rankings are updated every Wednesday at 12:00 noon, Greenwich Mean Time. Additional information about the WAGR and the current rankings may be found at www.wagr.com.
