Most of our membership is established via word of mouth. Typically, this is done by a current member inviting a non-member to play in a given event. A person playing in an event that has not joined is considered a guest and generally cannot participate in the full rewards of a specific event they play in. Likewise, some events, like the Club Championship, are not open to guests.
Our policy in allowing a guest to participate is as follows:
- Guests must be sponsored by a member and the sponsoring member can sign-up their guest(s) through Golf Genius beginning at 8:00 AM on the Tuesday prior to the Saturday event, provided that there are open spots available
- Guests will adhere to all policies and rules of the club and course
- A guest can only play once per calendar quarter
- Administration and enforcement of the policy is entirely at the BCMGC Board's discretion
Guests may play from any of the tees specified under the Tees Policy page, following the same age eligibility requirements as members. We request that the sponsoring member send a message to the BCMGC Board on the tees that their guest(s) will be playing from during guest sign-up.
Guests are encouraged to play in an event and can optionally play in the BCMGC's Gross Skins game for $5; guests are ineligible to play in any Flight games, the Net Skins game, and any Skill Hole games. It is an opportunity for the guest to experience the benefits of membership before a commitment is made to join BCMGC; however, a guest is limited to play once per calendar quarter.
