Notice to Players

2024 WPGA Senior Amateur Championship

September 30 & October 1, 2024 at The Club at Nevillewood, Nevillewood, PA

 


This notice serves as confirmation for the 2024 WPGA Senior Amateur Championship on Monday, September 30, and Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at The Club at Nevillewood. The championship 36-holes of stroke play and the field is 84 players. There are 45 players in the Senior Amateur Championship, and the Super-Senior Amateur Championship has 39 players. The locker room and practice facility will open at 7:00 AM on each day of the Championship. Starting times & groupings for round 2 will be based on scores in round 1.

Format: 36-holes of stroke play. Play is governed by The Rules of Golf and any Local Rules and Conditions distributed prior to play. In the event of a tie for either championship, a hole-by-hole playoff will take place on holes to be determined by the Committee.

 

Footwear: Prohibiting Use of Certain Types of Shoes: Model Local Rule G-7 as prescribed in Section 8 of the Committee Procedures is in effect. Spikes of any design that are entirely or partially made of metal, if such metal may come in contact with the course, is prohibited.


Tee Markers: Play in the Senior Amateur Championship will be from the pink WPGA tee markers. The course will play par 72 at approximately 6,700 yards depending on conditions and is subject to change. Play in the Super-Senior Amateur Championship will be from the white WPGA tee markers at approximately 6,300 yards and is subject to change.


Pace of Play: The maximum allowable time will be four hours and twenty minutes (4:20). A checkpoint system will be in place for the qualifying round.

Practice: Practice rounds are available and must be prearranged by contacting the Golf Shoppe at 412-276-4653. The Golf Professional is Cory Livingston. The practice round fee is $50. The cart fee is $34 plus tax and is required. Practice round fees are the responsibility of the player. Practice range balls are complimentary the morning of the competition.

 

Transportation/Caddies: Transportation is permitted and is included in the entry fee. Players may bring their own caddies. Caddies may only ride if there is an available seat in one of the two carts per grouping.


Food: Lunch is provided after each round and is included in the entry fee. All other food and beverage charges are the responsibility of the play.


Lodging: Lodging of various price ranges can also be found in the Bridgeville and Pittsburgh areas..

Evacuation Plan: In the event of a suspension of play for a dangerous situation, all players should return immediately to the clubhouse.

 

Note: A suspension for a dangerous situation will be signaled by one prolonged air horn note. All other types of suspension will be signaled by three consecutive air horn notes, repeated. Resumption of play will be signaled by two short air horn notes, repeated.

Spectator Info: No spectator carts will be permitted for the qualifying round without pre-approval.
