POLICIES, PROCEDURES, & GUIDELINES:
Prior to participating, participants must review the SCGA’s Policies & Procedures.
ENTRY FEE: $175
REGISTRATION:
Upon arrival the day of the championship, all players must register at the SCGA tent outside of the clubhouse. Registration will begin at 6:30 a.m.
FORMAT:
32 players, compromised of the top finishers from the 2024 One-Day Series Player of the Year Points list, will compete based on the schedule as seen below:
Monday, November 4:
Round 1 (stroke play) – Tee times from 7:30 a.m. to 9:10 a.m. off Tee 1.
Playing handicaps will be determined based on 95% of each player’s course handicap during stroke play.
Following the first round, the low eight players will advance to compete in single elimination match play. All ties for match play will be broken by the USGA-suggested method matching of scorecards (Committee Procedures: Section 5A (6)).
Tuesday, November 5:
Playing handicaps will be determined based on 100% of each player’s course handicap during match play. Seedings will be determined based on the current standing of the SCGA One-Day Series Points List.
Quarterfinals – Tee times from 7 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. off Tee 1
Semifinals – 12 p.m. and 12:10 p.m. off Tee 1
Wednesday, November 6:
Championship Match 7:30 a.m. off Tee 1 (start time subject to change)
The SCGA Championship & Golf Operations Committee reserves the right to adjust a player’s course handicap at any time prior to or during the competition.
The SCGA Handicap Department will review all 32 players Handicap Index as of Monday, October 21, 2024. Handicap Index’s will be released next Monday, October 28 for the pairings email. If your Handicap Index receives an adjustment, you will be contacted directly.
STARTING TIMES AND PAIRINGS:
- Starting times and pairings will be e-mailed to players and posted on scga.org one week in advance of the tournament.
- Players are encouraged to arrive at their assigned tee well in advance of their starting time, as the SCGA starter will have information to discuss and distribute to each player in the group. Furthermore, players arriving late will be penalized under Rule 5.3a of the Rules of Golf. For example, the 9:00 a.m. starting time is defined as 9:00:00, and players arriving after that time are considered late. Lead groups should plan to be at their assigned tee 10 minutes in advance of their starting time. Subsequent groups are encouraged to arrive in time to watch the group in front of them tee off.
TEES & YARDAGES:
- Men’s yardages for Round 1 of Stroke Play can be found HERE. Various yardages from the Blue & White tees will be used throughout the match play portion of the championship based off the Blue / White Combo Course Rating & Slope (71.1 / 131).
- Women’s yardages for Round 1 of Stroke Play can be found HERE. Various yardages from the Red & Gold tees will be used throughout the match play portion of the championship based off the Red Course Rating & Slope (73.5 / 132).
PRACTICE ROUNDS:
Contact the golf shop at (760) 758-5275 to arrange a practice round 7 days in advance. Practice rounds are based on availability, any day after 12:30 p.m. Rate: $150 includes cart.
DRIVING RANGE:
- The driving range will be available by 6:30 a.m. the morning of the championship. Players may obtain their range balls in the Golf Shop.
- Range balls will be provided compliments of The Havens CC and the SCGA.
FOOD SERVICE AND PURCHASES:
- The snack bar will be open by 6:30 a.m. each day of the championship.
- Lunch will be provided by the SCGA each day for PARTICIPANTS ONLY.
- Cash and Credit Card charges will be accepted.

The SCGA and StrackaLine have teamed up to allow our participants the availability to purchase Strackaline Yardage & Greens books at a 20% discount. Please click HERE to order your booklet. All booklets conform to the Rules of Golf and may be used in tournament play.
RULES OF PLAY:
- The Rules of Golf as approved by the USGA and The R&A govern play.
- Local Rules and Terms of the Competition can be found on the SCGA Hard Card and the Notice to Players.

AUTOMOTIVE TRANSPORTATION, PULL/PUSH CARTS:
- Automotive transportation is included with the entry fee.
- There will be a maximum of two carts per group and two bags per cart.
- Each player is entitled to one seat in a cart. If a player brings a caddie, the caddie may ride provided there is a vacant seat in one of the carts. Otherwise, either the player or the caddie must walk.
- Drivers must be at least 16 years of age (or older if club policy dictates).
- Pull or push carts are permitted.
CADDIES & SPECTATORS:
- Players may provide their own caddie (see section on Automotive Transportation).
- Spectators are permitted but are not allowed in carts. Spectators must adhere to all policies set forth by the facility.
DRESS CODE:
Appropriate golf attire must be worn, including adhering to any facility-specific policies.
AWARDS & MATCH PLAY TIES
- A match that ends all tied at the conclusion of 18 holes will be played off hole-by-hole until one side wins a hole. The playoff will start on Hole 1 and continue until decided. Handicap strokes will apply just like it did during the match.
- After the conclusion of the final match, awards will be issued to the Champion, the Runner up, and the 2024 SCGA One-Day Series Player of the Year.
NEW IN 2024: Top-5 Finishers of the SCGA One-Day Series Points List at the conclusion of the regular season prior to the championship will receive a bonus toward the SCGA One-Day Series Player of the Year Race:
- 1st – 100 points
- 2nd – 80 points
- 3rd – 70 points
- 4th – 60 points
- 5th – 50 points
One-Day Series Championship Points Distribution:
- Champion - 350 Points
- Runner-Up Finish - 250 Points
- Semifinal Finish - 150 Points
- Quarterfinal Finish - 100 Points
- Stroke Play Finish - 50 Points
One-Day Series Championship Points Distribution is non-cumulative, players will earn a minimum of 50 points, with a maximum of 350 points toward the One-Day Series Player of the Year Points List.
One-Day Series Player of the Year:
The Player of the Year award will be awarded to the participant with the highest point total after the championship. (The winner of the One-Day Series Championship does not automatically win the Player of the Year.)
- One-Day Series Champion – Crystal trophy and a $500 Roger Dunn Gift Card
- One-Day Series Championship Runner-up – Pewter plate and a $250 Roger Dunn Gift Card
- 2024 One-Day Series Player of the Year – Commemorative framed flag and a $750 Roger Dunn Gift Card
In the event of a tie for any place on the One-Day Series Points List, the tie shall be broken based on;
- Number of 2024 One-Day Series events participated in
- Best finish in a 2024 One-Day Series event
CANCELATIONS & REFUNDS:
- To withdraw for any reason prior to the start of a SCGA competition, a player must notify the SCGA Championships & Golf Operations Department at champs@scga.org.
- Failure to notify the SCGA will subject the player to suspension from future SCGA competitions.
- Refund Policy:
- Cancelation prior to the entry closing date: Full refund less a $20 administrative fee.
- Cancelation after the entry closing date and more than 48 hours prior to the start of the competition: 50% of the entry fee.
- Cancelation within 48 hours of the start of the competition: No refund.
