26th Old Warson Cup
TERMS OF COMPETITION
FORMAT
Format will be a single elimination, match play competition. The fields are chosen from the Final Standings of the 2023 Metropolitan Amateur Golf Association Player of the Year and Senior Player of the Year Point System List ("Point List") and their place in the match play draw is determined by the numerical finish on the Point List.
The Stipulated Round shall be holes 1 through 18, unless the order is modified by the Committee. Any match where a winner is not determined through 18 holes, that match shall be extended, for the purpose of settling a tie, to as many holes required to determine a winner. The holes to be utilized to settle the tie will be determined by the Championship Committee at that time. (See Rule 3.2a(4))
SCHEDULE
All rounds are 18 holes at match play. (See Rule 3.2)
Saturday, May 4, 2024
7:30am - Round of 16 Sixteen (16) players, eight (8) matches
1:00pm – Senior Semifinals Four (4) players, two (2) matches
1:30pm – Quarterfinals Eight (8) players, four (4) matches
Sunday, May 5, 2024
7:30am – Semifinals Four (4) players, two (2) matches
12:15am – Senior Final Two (2) players, one (1) match
12:30pm – Final Two (2) players, one (1) match
REGISTRATION
All players must be ready to play at published starting time on Saturday, May 4, 2024 and at all starting times thereafter.
RULES OF GOLF
Play will be governed by the Rules of Golf as published by the United States Golf Association. Questions shall be settled by the Championship Committee whose decision shall be final.
GOLF BALLS; EQUIPMENT
Only brands of golf balls on the most recent USGA Conforming Ball List may be used. All Clubs utilized during the Competition must be conforming under USGA Rules.
CADDIES
Player may provide his own caddie or request from the Club use of a Club caddie. Player MAY NOT carry his own clubs during any portion of the Competition. Use of a Club caddie will be at the player's expense.
AUTOMOTIVE TRANSPORTATION
Old Warson Cup: Players and/or caddies shall NOT USE automotive transportation during play.
Senior Old Warson Cup: Automotive Transportation is permitted; carts, if used, will be at the players expense
FOOTWEAR
Shoes with traditionally – designed spikes, comprised either partially or entirely of metal, are prohibited. Penalty for breach of this Condition: DISQUALIFICATION.
PERSONAL APPEARANCE; CONDUCT
During all phases of Competition, players must be neat in appearance with respect to clothing and personal grooming. The Championship Committee shall determine whether this requirement has been met and has the authority to withdraw the invitation of a player who does not comply. The wearing of Bermuda-length shorts is permitted.
Invitations are subject to rejection at any time during the Competition by the Championship Committee for conduct which, at the sole discretion of the Championship Committee, is unbecoming.

Old Warson Cup Champion - Gold Medal; Name forever etched onto The Old Warson Cup Trophy that remains at Old Warson CC
Old Warson Cup Runner-up - Silver Medal
Senior Old Warson Cup Champion – Champion Hardware
NOTICE CONCERNING AMATEUR STATUS
Participation in this event is conditioned on Amateur Status. The USGA Rules of Amateur Status shall apply. The Championship Committee reserves the right to disqualify any participant for not having Amateur Status. Disqualifying events include: (i) competing for cash prizes in any amount and (ii) competing for merchandise prizes exceeding $1000 in value.
CONDITIONS; SCHEDULES
The Championship Committee reserves the right to alter any of the conditions and schedules herein. The decision of the Championship Committee in any matter shall be final.
