18th annual Parent Child Championship

The Club at Porto Cima - July 29-30, 2024

 

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Gender: Open to male and female golfers.
  • Membership: Players DO NOT have to be MGA members to compete.
  • Age: 12 and over.
  • USGA Handicap Index: At least one player must have an up-to-date USGA Handicap Index.
  • At least one player must live in Missouri.

 

ENTRY INFORMATION

  • Deadline: Must register by noon on July 21, 2024
  • Fee: $450 per team
    • Fee includes championship rounds, range balls and cart fees for the championship rounds
    • Players are responsible for the practice round and cart fees for practice round
  • Refund Policy: Refunds are issued if requested at least 7 days prior to start of event. You will receive the entry fee minus a $30 processing charge. For this event, you can receive a refund of $420 if requested by July 22, 2024. Refunds are not issued if requested less than a week in advance.

 

FORMAT & SCHEDULE

Sunday, July 28

Practice round - call Porto Cima to set this up. Practice Round is NOT included in the entry fee.

 

Monday, July 29

First round - 18 holes

Tee times off holes 1 and 10, 7:30am-9:30am & 12:00pm-2:00pm.

 

Tuesday, July 30

First round - 18 holes

Tee times off holes 1 and 10, 7:30am-9:30am & 12:00pm-2:00pm.

 

DIVISIONS

Open - The top 12 teams with the lowest combined handicaps will compete in this flight (any team may opt-out). This flight will play 6 holes scramble, 6 holes alternate shot, and 6 holes best ball both rounds. This flight will compete for the Overall Champion title.

Championship - This division will be broken down into 4 flights based on team handicaps. This flight will play 36 holes scramble.

Century - This division is for teams with combined ages of 100 or more. This flight will play 36 holes scramble. Teams in this flight will only be competing against each other.

Super Senior - This division is for teams with one player 70 or older. This flight will play 36 holes scramble. Teams in this flight will only be competing against each other.

Pro Division - Open. Teams in this flight will play 6 holes scramble, 6 holes alternate shot and 6 holes best ball.

Women/Girls: 

Red Tee, 4,740 yards 

 

Men/Boys:

12-14: White Tee, 5,810 yards

15-49: Gold Tee, 6,493 yards

50-59: Blue Tee, 6,303 yards

60-69: Black Tee, 6,106 yards

70-79: White Tee, 5,810 yards

80+: Red Tee, 4,740 yards

 

GOLF CARTS

Motorized golf carts and push carts are approved for this event.

 

PRIZES

Gift certificates will be given to top finishers in each division.

The MGA reserves the right to amend any of the conditions, terms or schedules published for this Championship. The decision of the MGA in any matter will be final.
