39st WPGA Mid-Amateur Championship

This notice serves as confirmation for the 2024 WPGA Mid-Amateur Championship on Monday, September 9, 2024, at Butler Country Club. Qualifying is 36-holes of stroke play and the field is 78 players. Additional information will be distributed on the starting tees. The locker room and practice facility will open at 7:30 AM the day of the qualifying round.

Format: 36-holes of stroke play. Play is governed by The Rules of Golf and any Local Rules and Conditions distributed prior to play. In the event of a tie for the final qualifying spot or any alternate, a hole-by-hole playoff will take place on holes to be determined by the Committee.


Distance Measuring Devices are permitted for the qualifying round.

 

Footwear: Prohibiting Use of Certain Types of Shoes: Model Local Rule G-7 as prescribed in Section 8 of the Committee Procedures is in effect. Spikes of any design that are entirely or partially made of metal, if such metal may come in contact with the course, is prohibited.


Tee Markers: All play is from the white White tee markers. The course will play par 70 at approximately 6,900 yards depending on conditions and is subject to change.


Pace of Play: The maximum allowable time will be four hours and twenty minutes (4:20). A checkpoint system will be in place for the qualifying round.

Practice: Practice rounds are available and must be prearranged by contacting the golf shop at 724-586-6030
. Practice round fees are $50 if walking and $85 is riding. Depending on availability, the club will allow caddies/non-participants for $150 per person. Practice rounds may be booked five days in advance. The Golf Professional is John Brautigam. Practice round fees are the responsibility of the player. Practice range balls are complimentary the morning of the competition.

Transportation/Caddies: Transportation is permitted and is included in the entry fee. Push carts are permitted for the Championship. Players may bring their own caddies. Caddies must walk in performance of their duties during the qualifying round.


Food: Lunch is provided between rounds and is included in the entry fee. All other food and beverage charges are the responsibility of the play.


Lodging: Lodging of various price ranges can also be found in the Butler and Cranberry Township areas.

Evacuation Plan: In the event of a suspension of play for a dangerous situation, all players should return immediately to the clubhouse.

 

Note: A suspension for a dangerous situation will be signaled by one prolonged air horn note. All other types of suspension will be signaled by three consecutive air horn notes, repeated. Resumption of play will be signaled by two short air horn notes, repeated.

Spectator Info: No spectator carts will be permitted for the qualifying round without pre-approval.
