Notice to Players
83rd WPGA Four-Ball Championship
Monday, August 19th, 2024 at Hannastown Golf Club, Greensburg, PA



This notice serves as confirmation for the 83rd WPGA Four-Ball Championship on Monday, August 19, 2024 at Hannastown Golf Club. The competition is 36 holes of Four-Ball Stroke Play. Play is governed by the USGA Rules of Golf.   

 

Format: 36-holes of Four-Ball Stroke Play. Play is governed by The Rules of Golf and any Local Rules and Conditions distributed prior to play.  Each score on the scorecard must be clearly identified as the score of the individual partner who made it. In the event of a tie for first place, a hole-by-hole playoff will take place on holes to be determined by the Committee.

 

Tee Markers: Play will be from the WPGA White tee markers (Approximately 6,700 Yards) and a par of 72. Play will begin on Hole #1 and Hole #10. Yardages will be contingent on course conditions.

 

Transportation/Caddies: Automotive transportation is permitted for the competition and included in the entry fee. Caddies are permitted for the Championship. Players may bring their own caddies. Caddies must walk in performance of their duties.

 

No spectator carts will be permitted for the Championship. Please contact the WPGA office with any questions.

 

Practice: Practice rounds can be scheduled by contacting the golf shop at 724-836-8643. Tee Times are available at the discretion of the golf shop. Practice round fees are the responsibility of the player. 

 

Food: The WPGA provides water on course and lunch, which will be provided between rounds. All other food and beverage charges are the responsibility of the player.

 

Footwear: Model Local Rule G-7, Prohibiting Use of Certain Types of Shoes, as prescribed in Section 8 of the Committee Procedures is in effect. Spikes of any design that are entirely or partially made of metal, if such metal may come in contact with the course, is prohibited.

 

Lodging: Lodging of various price ranges can be found in the Greensburg, PA  area.

 

Evacuation Plan: In the event of a suspension of play for a dangerous situation, all players should return immediately to the clubhouse.

 

Note: A suspension for a dangerous situation will be signaled by one prolonged air horn note. All other types of suspension will be signaled by three consecutive air horn notes, repeated. Resumption of play will be signaled by two short air horn notes, repeated.

 

Pace of Play: The maximum allowable time will be four hours and twenty minutes (4:20). A checkpoint system will be in place for the Championship.
