- For players who plan to have a caddie the day of qualifying, the USGA employs the "One Seat Policy" for all Senior Amateur qualifying as well as the championship proper. To summarize the "one seat policy", either the player or their caddie may ride in a golf cart at any one time, but at no time may BOTH the player and caddie ride in a golf cart at the same time. This includes in two separate golf carts if the other golf cart in the group has an open seat. To learn more about this USGA rule, please see the link above titled "Cart Policy for U.S. Senior Amateur" under the Event Resources section. If you plan to have a caddie, please make them aware of this rule well in advance of arrival to the golf course the day of qualifying.
Eligibility:
Entries are open to amateur golfers who will have reached their fifty-fifth (55) birthday by the start of the Championship Proper and have an up-to-date Handicap Index® based on ratings for men not exceeding 5.4 under the USGA Handicap System™. A Handicap Index must be issued from a “golf club” (as defined in the USGA Handicap System Manual) that is authorized to use the USGA Handicap System. The USGA accepts an up-to-date handicap issued from the international body of golf that would be equivalent to a USGA Handicap Index® within the prescribed limit for entry into the Championship. For this Championship, any reference to gender applies to all genders

Additionally, the USGA reserves the right to limit or suspend the use of golf carts due to inclement weather, unsafe use of the golf cart or circumstances where use of the golf cart would present a hazard to others, the course officials, the golf course or for other unforeseen circumstances. If the player’s caddie has a disability and the caddie would like to ride in a golf cart throughout the stipulated round in addition to the player, consistent with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), a disabled caddie may be permitted to use of a golf cart as an accommodation to his or her disability.
