Notice to Players
2024 U.S. Senior Open Qualifying

This notice serves as confirmation for the U.S. Senior Open Qualifying Round on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Indiana Country Club in Indiana, PA. Qualifying is 18-holes and the field is 84 players. The number of spots the field is playing for is two (2) spots and two (2) alternates. Additional information will be distributed on the starting tee. The locker room and practice facility will open at 7:00 AM the day of the qualifying round. All play will begin on #1 tee.
At least one member of the grouping is encouraged to download the Golf Genius scoring app prior to arrival. The groupings GGID will be provided on the first tee.
Format: 18-holes of stroke play. Play is governed by The Rules of Golf and any Local Rules and Conditions distributed at the starting tee. In the event of a tie for the final qualifying spot or any alternate, a hole-by-hole playoff will take place on holes to be determined by the Committee.
Tee Markers: All play is from the USGA tee markers. The course will play par 71 at 6,570 yards depending on conditions and is subject to change.
Pace of Play: The maximum allowable time will be four hours and twenty minutes (4:20). A checkpoint system will be in place for the qualifying round.
Practice: Practice rounds are available and must be pre-arranged by contacting the golf shop at 724-465-5222. The Golf Professional is Andrew Heffernan. Practice rounds are available at the discretion of the golf shop and are to be scheduled no sooner than seven days in advance. The practice round is $65 if the player walks. Cart fees are additional if the player chooses to ride. Practice round fees are the responsibility of the player. Practice range balls are complimentary the morning of the competition.
Transportation/Caddies: Walking is required. The club does not offer caddies. Players may bring their own caddies. Caddies must walk in performance of their duties during the qualifying round. Players are permitted to use push trolleys for the qualifying round.
Food: All food and beverage charges are the responsibility of the player.
Footwear: Model Local Rule G-7 Prohibiting Use of Certain Types of Shoes is in effect. Shoes with traditional spikes or spikes of any design that are entirely or partially made of metal is prohibited.
Lodging: Lodging of various price ranges can be found in the Indiana area.
Evacuation Plan: In the event of a suspension of play for a dangerous situation, all players are to immediately return to their vehicles. WPGA staff and volunteers will assist in the evacuation.
Note: A suspension for a dangerous situation will be signaled by one prolonged air horn note. All other types of suspension will be signaled by three consecutive air horn notes, repeated. Resumption of play will be signaled by two short air horn notes, repeated.
