Player of the Year
Player of the Year points are accumulated throughout the year based on your play at specific events and Championships. They serve as a ranking for AZ Golf members and are used to select players for team events, invitational events, and to help appoint a "Player of the Year" in each division at the end of the year.
How Does it Work?
Players can acquire points by playing in AZ Golf Championships and events, Arizona Sanctioned events, and qualifying for USGA Championships. At the start of each new year, players' points are reset to zero.
Divisions
Open - No age distinction
Senior - Ages 55-64
Legends - Ages 65+
Women's - No age distinction
Senior Women's - Ages 50+
A player's Division is determined by their age at the time of the event, (i.e. a player can start earning Senior points as soon as they turn 55). For Major Championships, players earn points in the Open division as well as any age division they are eligible for. For Divisional events, players only earn points for the division they sign up for.
