FORMAT/QUALIFYING PLACES 36 holes of individual stroke play for 3 qualifying spots and 2 alternate spots to be determined to advance to the 2024 U.S. Open Championship to be played June 13-16 at Pinehurst Resort & Country Club (#2) in Village of Pinehurst, NC. |
FOOTWEAR It is a condition of all GSGA Competitions that shoes with traditionally designed spikes (regardless of composition, i.e., ceramic, plastic, etc.) or spikes, regardless of design, comprised either entirely or partially of metal (if such metal may come in contact with the course) are prohibited during the stipulated round. Penalty: DISQUALIFICATION. |
PRACTICE ROUND One practice round per player and practice rounds are for players only. Practice rounds will be available on the designated dates and times below. Please call Golf Club of Georgia at (770) 664-8644 to reserve your practice round starting time. Practice round cart and range fee is $50 plus tax and must be paid regardless of whether or not the player chooses to walk or ride. Credit cards ONLY will be accepted methods of payment in the golf shop. Practice rounds will be available for local players Tuesday-Thursday, May 28-30 and on Sunday, June 2 for out-of-town players, all based on availability. |
GOLF SHOP & DRIVING RANGE The golf shop and driving range will open at 6:30 a.m. the day of competition. |
STARTING TIMES Starting times for tournament play will be assigned by the USGA/GSGA and posted at the club the day before the competition starts. You may visit www.gsga.org for complete pairing information. |
REGISTRATION No formal registration will be held on site. Players should arrive at their assigned starting tee ten minutes before their starting time to allow for the starter to go over instructions and rules of play. Player withdrawals must be called in to the GSGA office at (678) 324-5969 or e-mailed to jfages@gsga.org. |
CARTS Practice cart and range fees are $50 plus tax. Credit cards ONLY will be accepted. During the qualifying round, a caddie may transport a player’s bag on a cart for a fee of $60 plus tax for the day. Spectator carts are strictly prohibited in all instances. |
CADDIES Players may provide their own caddie. |
PRIZE A Silver medal will be presented to the low scorer at the conclusion of the qualifying round. |

PREFERED LIES Per the USGA, for all USGA Championships and qualifying rounds, the following policy is in effect: A Local Rule authorizing “Preferred Lies” or “Winter Rules” is NEVER permitted. |
FOOD SERVICE Food and beverage items will be available in the clubhouse starting at 7:00 a.m. Credit cards ONLY will be accepted for F&B purchases. An assortment of breakfast sandwiches, etc. ($10++) will be available from 7:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m., and a quick service lunch buffet ($17++) from 11:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. |

PERSONAL APPEARANCE In Local and Sectional Qualifying stages and the Championship proper, players must be neat in appearance with respect to clothing and personal grooming. The Committee in charge decides whether this requirement has been met and has the authority to withdraw the entry of a player who does not comply. The wearing of short pants is prohibited in the Championship proper but is permissible in Local and Sectional Qualifying provided the host club does not have a dress code prohibiting such. |
