History of the Fall Cup Championship: The Fall Cup Championship was first played at Acushnet River Valley Golf Course on October 21, 2009, with 6 regions represented. Cohasset Golf Club won the Gross Division and Country Club of New Bedford won the Net Division. Last Year, TPC Boston won the 2022 Gross Division and Walpole Country Club #2 won the 2022 Net Division.
Format:
- 18 holes of Four-Ball stroke play, gross and net (commonly known as Best-Ball)
- Each team's score will be determined by its aggregate score.
- Partners for each team will be paired by handicap index, low to high.
Handicaps: 100% Playing Handicap™ as of October 3, 2023
Tees: Women will be playing from Mass Golf red tee markers from ~5,100 yards
Starting Time: 10:00 a.m. Shotgun Start
Scorecards: Paper scorecards will be provided to all participants for the player’s own notes. All paper scorecards are considered UNOFFICIAL. The official scorecard will be the mobile Golf Genius app scoring. Prior to the tournament, players should download the Golf Genius app. Click HERE for mobile scoring instructions. You will be provided a GGID number on your scorecards and that is the number you type into the app to see your foursome and enter scores.
Practice Areas: Driving range and short game area open beginning at 8:00 a.m.
Pace of Play: Pace for this round is 4 hours and 30 minutes. Please ensure that you are keeping within a hole of the group in front of you.
Scoring: At the end of the round all scores must be verified by the team before your team’s designated app scorekeeper and unofficial written scorekeeper reports to the scoring tent. Mass Golf staff will verify with the designated scorekeepers that their scores are accurate and will take a verbal yes as a confirmation/signature.
Awards: Fall Cup region winners will receive a special hat/ball marker clip. Ties honored for first place gross and net only. All other ties will be decided by matching cards in accordance with the USGA recommended method. Prize certificates will be given out and must be redeemed at Shaker Hills Country Club.
Rules of Golf: The USGA® Rules of Golf, Local Rules and Terms of Competitions for Mass Golf Tournaments govern all play.
Mass Golf Policies & Procedures: Please refer to Policies & Procedures and Pace of Play Policy.
Distance-Measuring Devices: Permitted as specified in Mass Golf Policies & Procedures.
Bathrooms: Bathrooms are located in the clubhouse, locker room and at the 6/13th hole beside the snack shack.
Water and Snacks: Mass Golf will provide bottled water on carts, there is no water on course. A water bottle filler is located in the clubhouse. Snack Shack located at the 6th and 13th tee will be open for drinks and snack purchases. CASH AND CREDIT CARDS ACCEPTED.
Food and Beverage: A grilled grab and go box lunch will be available beginning at 11:00 a.m. on the clubhouse back patio located by 9th/18th green and 1st tee. The Grill room bar will also be open for alcoholic beverages. CASH AND CREDIT CARDS ACCEPTED.
Additional Information: No preferred pricing to play a practice round prior to the Fall Cup Championship.
DECISIONS BY THE COMMITTEE IN ATTENDANCE ARE FINAL.
