Terms of Competition

ELIGIBILITY
The Maine Senior Women’s Amateur Championship is open to female amateurs who will be 50 or older on or before September 12, 2023. All competitors must play at a Maine Golf member club and have a Handicap Index® from that club on or before the date they submit their application. No guests may compete in championship events.

FORMAT
The Maine Senior Women’s Championship is a two-day tournament featuring individual, 18-hole stroke play. On the first day, all registered players will compete. For the second day, only the top twenty-seven players plus ties will move forward to vie for the championship.  On day one, players may also enter an optional skins competition for $5 in addition to the entry fee. Players who move on to day two that prefer to ride will need to make arrangements for carts with the host club.

The tournament will be flighted by age groups: A (50-54), B (55-59), C (60-64), D (65-69), E (70-74), F (75+).

ENTRY INFORMATION
All players must file an entry for the championship. Players must apply for the championship online via Golf Genius, the software Maine Golf uses to conduct tournaments. All players on a team must have a Golf Genius account prior to registration.

Golf carts can only be reserved using a credit card. No voucher funds can be applied to cart reservation.

The field will be limited to 120 players. If the tournament fills up prior to the close of entry, players will still be allowed to register. Maine Golf has the final say in determining the field for the championship.
