Practice RoundsPlayers may arrange a practice round by contacting the golf shop and identifying themselves as a competitor in the field. Practice rounds will be offered based on club availability within the timeframes listed below. 

 

Availability:

Based on Club availability during the times outlined below – please contact the golf shop at (413) 566-8010 and introduce yourself as a competitor to schedule a starting time (no walk-up times will be available).

-Weekday Mornings

-Weekend Afternoons

-Practice Rounds will NOT be available on Sunday, August 20th as the course will be closed for maintenance.  

Notes

  • Competitors will be required to pay a mandatory $30 trail fee for their practice round.

-Cash and/or Credit Card Accepted.

  • Practice rounds are for competitors only (no caddies, parents, outside spectators, etc.).
  • Competitors may be paired with other competitors during their practice round.
  • Only one ball may be played per competitor during their practice round.
  • For competitors unable to take advantage of a practice round or wanting to preview the course just ahead of the qualifier, competitors may WALK (no clubs or golf balls) the course on Sunday, August 20th after 5:00pm.
  • The practice putting green and short game areas will also be available after 5:00pm - players must use their own golf balls.
  • The practice range will be closed and unavailable to competitors on Sunday, August 20th.

 

Starting Times:  Play will begin at 7:30 AM off the 1st & 10th tee. Pairings & Starting Times will be available after the close of entries and can be accessed by clicking the "Starting Times & Parings" tab above. There will be no registration on the day of the event, please report to your scheduled starting tee to receive local rules, hole locations, scorecard, etc. at least 10 minutes prior to your starting time.

 

Withdrawals:  To withdraw from a qualifier, please login to the USGA Portal and click WITHDRAW and select the Championship and Reason for withdrawing. If applicable, any refund will be processed within 5-7 business days. Once submitted, all withdrawals are final. If you need to withdraw within 48 hours of the qualifier, please also e-mail Steve Yatrousis at syatrousis@massgolf.org. 

 

Qualifying & Alternate Spots Available: 3 Qualifying Spot(s) and 2 Alternate Spots. Qualifying players will advance to the 61st U.S. Senior Women's Amateur Championship at Troon Country Club, Scottsdale, Arizona. 

 

Distance Devices:  The use of distance measuring devices is permitted.

 

Automotive Transportation: The use of automotive transportation is permitted for the Qualifier. Players and/or caddy are permitted to ride in the golf cart, but NOT at the same time. Mass Golf does not permit more than 2 carts per pairing group in USGA qualifiers. Push/Pull carts are also permitted. The cost of a golf cart ($30) is the responsibility of the player - and should be paid to the golf shop prior to the round. 

 

Caddies & Push Carts: Players are permitted to employ a caddy and/or use a push cart. 

 

Competition Tees/ Yardage: Competition Tees & Yardage are approximate and subject to change. Play will be approximately from ~5,700 yards (Combo Tee Set) (Par 73).

Golf Shop, Locker Room and Practice Facilities: The practice facilities will be open and available at 6:30am. 

 

Food & Beverage: Lunch will be available for purchase in the GreatHorse clubhouse starting at 11:00 AM (Credit Card Only). 

 

Dress Code:  Please observe the USGA dress code as stated in the application. 

 

*Please also review the 2023 USGA Hard Card and other policies located under the tab labeled "USGA Policies" prior to competition.

 

*There will be no registration on the day of the event - please report to your scheduled starting hole to receive local rules, scorecard, etc. 10 minutes prior to your starting time.
