ENTRY DEADLINE:

Wednesday August 8, 2018  at 5:00 PM H.S.T.

 

ELIGIBILITY:

The HSJGA strongly recommends all HSJGA members enter the field. The Final Field will be filled from the Top 16 entries on the Point list as of August 2, 2018.  In the years past, the field was filled with players as far down as 40th on the point list.

 

Open to HSJGA Members in good standing in the 13-18 age divisions who have passed the HSJGA Rules Quiz and completed the HSJGA Questionnaire. Juniors in the 11-12 year old division are welcomed to “Play-Up” in the 13-14 age division, but will automatically be placed on a wait-list and only allowed to play-up if space is available.

DO NOT BOOK ANY TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS UNTIL ACCEPTED INTO THE FIELD.
 

ENTRY FEE:

$70.00

Includes a minimum of two (2) rounds, two (2) lunches and on course snacks and water. Entries will be accepted when the field closes and the field will be filled on priority from the HSJGA Point list as of August 2, 2018. Incomplete entries will be put on the wait-list and will not be accepted until completed.

WITHDRAWALS / REFUNDS:  

Withdrawals: Juniors must withdraw from a tournament online using their HSJGA member account. Notification of the HSJGA office by email or phone (808) 635-4642 of a player's intention to withdraw from an event are final. A player may, however, submit another application for that tournament if the entry deadline has not passed. Withdrawal from any event will not affect future tournament play. Failure to withdraw will be considered a "No-Show." (See "No-Shows") in  Membership Handbook.

Refunds / Incomplete Transactions: The membership fee is non-refundable. Players who withdraw before an event’s entry deadline will have their entry fee returned minus $10.00 for handling. If a player withdraws after the entry deadline and five (5) or more working days before the tournament, he/she will be refunded 50% of the entry fee. There will be no refunds for players who withdraw less than five (5) working days (Monday through Friday) before a tournament (except for emergencies; these claims will be reviewed by the HSJGA’s Executive Committee). If a tournament is cancelled due to inclement weather, the junior will be refunded all but $10.00 of his/her entry fee for handling.  All online transactions that are returned due to insufficient funds or incomplete information will be charged a $10.00 processing fee. Entry into an event will not be accepted until all additional fees are paid.

PRACTICE ROUND INFORMATION

Please call the golf course directly at (808) 661-3691 and identify yourself as an HSJGA participant to make a tee time and for more information regarding the $25.00 + tax green fee (walking). Drivers must have valid driver's license to operate a cart during a practice round. Please note the HSJGA Policy for Practice Rounds in the current HSJGA Handbook:

During practice rounds for any HSJGA tournament, juniors may play one ball only and may not practice chipping or putting when there are players waiting. Violations of this policy will result in the following penalty.

Penalty:          1st Infraction: Warning

 2nd Infraction: 100-point deduction for any subsequent infraction.

 3rd Infraction:  Disqualification from the tournament. 

 

DRIVING RANGE HOURS:

6:00 AM - 6 PM
Small - $4.00; Medium - $6.00; Large - $8.00; XL - $12.50

 

POINTS:

600 Point HSJGA Tournament

Remember the Ka'anapali HSJGA Match Play Championship is a MAJOR tournament; points will be awarded based on the 600-point system.  Points will be awarded in the junior’s designated HSJGA division. An exception to this policy would be an 11-12 year old entered in the event will receive points in the 13-14 division and 13-14 girls will receive points in the13-14 year and13-18 age divisions.


The points for this tournament count for 2018 Player of the Year, 2019 AJGA / IJGT. Exemptions and other special events as announced.

The points for this tournament also count for the following Team selections:

Asia Pacific Junior Cup (APJC)

***Please take some time to personalize each note. Each note will be reviewed when returned at registration on day two (2) and if not complete juniors will be asked to elaborate. Juniors may wish to make a template to personalize for each person. Juniors may include but are not limited to, any of the following ideas to help write a GREAT and MEMORABLE thank you note:  

• Current / favorite photo of junior

• Age / Grade in school

• Name of school attending and favorite subject

• Number of years playing golf, best score, number of hole-in-ones

• Favorite golfer and why

• Favorite athlete and why

Notes will be collected at registration prior to round two (2). If a junior should forget their thank you notes, HSJGA thank you cards are available for purchase at registration for a fee of $1.00 per card. 

FOOD AND BEVERAGES:

On-course snacks and water will be provided for players and volunteers ONLY. Lunch will be provided for players and non-parent volunteers on both days.

HSJGA DRESS CODE:

Proper attire is required at all times at all HSJGA tournaments, practice rounds, events and/or functions. For more information, see current HSJGA Handbook. The HSJGA Dress Code applies to all spectators as well. Please refer to the current HSJGA handbook.

SPECTATORS:

SPECTATORS ARE ALLOWED ONLY FOR THE 13-18 DIVISIONS.

THE HSJGA DOES NOT ALLOW SPECTATORS FOR THE 12 & UNDER AGE DIVISIONS.

All spectators and volunteers must register and receive a wristband to be worn while on the course. The wrist bands are non-transferable. Any spectator or volunteer found without a wristband will be asked to return to the clubhouse immediately to register. Also, the HSJGA Staff, Rules Officials and Directors will give a warning card to anyone in violation of the dress code.

1st offense: Warning card and must sign form

2nd offense: Removal from the golf course

3rd offense: 25-point deduction for junior involved and a one (1) year suspension for spectator from the time of the infraction.

All spectators must walk.

ADA:

Ka'anapali Golf Course allows that spectators may request relief under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and seek a reasonable accommodation for their disability by the use of a motorized golf cart during all tournament competition for the 2018 season. Spectators are required to submit a request in writing, with a copy of the ADA state authorized handicap card, to the HSJGA office prior to the tournament date they wish a cart for review/approval and determination when allowed by the course. Cart fees may vary per course. Only the person approved for ADA cart privileges may ride in the cart at any time; no passengers.
