The entry fee includes two (2) rounds of golf, lunch during round two (2) and on course snacks and water (both rounds).   Incomplete entries will be returned; you will not be accepted until completed.

 

ELIGIBILITY:

 

15-18 year old juniors may enter the 13-14 divisions if they are home schooled and/or not eligible for high school golf. 15-18 year old juniors will only be eligible on space available basis and will not be eligible for awards, Tournament of Champions or Player of the Year Points. 

 

14 & Under: Open to HSJGA Members in good standing in the 7-14 age divisions who meet the scoring guidelines in the current HSJGA Handbook.  To be considered “Tournament Ready", juniors should have a reasonable expectation of returning a score approximately in this range from yardages indicated under “Approximate Average Yardages” and should be responsible for carrying or pushing their own golf bag.

 

All juniors must have first passed the current season's HSJGA Rules Quiz. 

 

WITHDRAWALS/ REFUNDS:  

 

Withdrawals: Juniors must withdraw from a tournament online using their HSJGA member account. Notification of the HSJGA office by email or phone (808) 635-4642 of a player's intention to withdraw from an event are final. A player may, however, submit another application for that tournament if the entry deadline has not passed. Withdrawal from any event will not affect future tournament play. Failure to withdraw will be considered a "No-Show."(See "No-Shows") in current Membership Handbook.

 

Refunds / Incomplete Transactions: The membership fee is non-refundable. Players who withdraw before an event’s entry deadline will have their entry fee returned minus $10.00 for handling. If a player withdraws after the entry deadline and five (5) or more working days before the tournament,he/she will be refunded 50% of the entry fee. There will be no refunds for players who withdraw less than five (5) working days (Monday through Friday)before a tournament (except for emergencies; these claims will be reviewed by the HSJGA’s Executive Committee). If a tournament is cancelled due to inclement weather, the junior will be refunded all but $10.00 of his/her entry fee for handling.  All online transactions that are returned due to insufficient funds or incomplete information will be charged a $10.00 processing fee.

 

Entry into an event will not be accepted until all additional fees are paid.

Juniors may wish to make a template to personalize for each person.  Use your imagination and show your gratitude! The HSJGA cannot conduct tournaments without the generous support of our sponsors and all the golf courses in Hawaii. Juniors may include but are not limited to, any of the following ideas to help write a GREAT and MEMORABLE thank you note:

Notes will be collected at registration prior to round two.   If a junior should forget their thank you notes, HSJGA blank  cards are available for purchase at registration for a fee of $1.00 per card. 

 

PRACTICE ROUND INFORMATION:  Tee

 

Please call the golf course directly at (808) 242-4653 and identify yourself as an HSJGA participant to make a tee time after 12:00 pm; green fees are $30.00 + tax (walking); carts are an additional fee. Drivers must have a valid driver's license to operate a cart during a practice round. 

 

Please note the HSJGA Policy for Practice Rounds in the current HSJGA Handbook:  During practice rounds for any HSJGA tournament, juniors may play one ball only and may not practice chipping or putting when there are players waiting. Violations of this policy will result in the following penalty.

 

Penalty:          1st Infraction: Warning

 2nd Infraction:100-point deduction for any subsequent infraction.

 3rd Infraction: Disqualification from the tournament.

HSJGA DRESS CODE:

 

Proper attire is required at all times for junior members at all HSJGA tournaments,practice rounds, events and/or functions.   The HSJGA Dress Code applies to all spectators as well.   Please refer to the current HSJGA handbook for both junior member and any spectator.

 

SPECTATORS:

 

SPECTATORS ARE ALLOWED ONLY FOR THE 13-14 DIVISIONS.

 

THE HSJGA DOES NOT ALLOW SPECTATORS FOR THE 12 & UNDER AGE DIVISIONS

 

All spectators and volunteers must register and receive a wristband to be worn while on the course. The wristbands are non-transferable. Any spectator or volunteer found without a wristband will be asked to return to the clubhouse immediately to register.

 

The HSJGA Staff, Rules Officials and Directors will give a warning card to anyone in violation of the dress code.

 

1st offense: Warning card and must sign form

2nd offense: Removal from the golf course

3rd offense: 25-point deduction for junior involved and a one(1)year suspension for spectator from the time of the infraction.

 

All spectators must walk.

 

ADA:

 

Kahili Golf Course allows that spectators may request relief under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and seek a reasonable accommodation for their disability by the use of a motorized golf cart during all tournament competition for the 2018 season.  Spectators are required to submit a request in writing, with a copy of the ADA state authorized handicap card, to the HSJGA office, for review and approval,  prior to the first tournament date they wish a cart. Only the person approved for ADA cart privileges may ride in the cart at any time; no passengers.  Cart fees vary per course.

The Junior Tour Series will be awarded based on the 400-point system.  Points will be awarded in the junior’s designated HSJGA age division.   

 

Points will be awarded in the following age groups only.

Boys and Girls 7-10

Boys and Girls 11-12

Boys and Girls 13-14

 

 

FOOD AND BEVERAGES:

 

On-course snacks and water will be provided for players and volunteers ONLY. Lunch will be provided for players and non-parent volunteers during or after round two.
