TERMS OF THE COMPETITION


ELIGIBILITY

This championship is open to amateur male golfers who have an active GHIN Handicap Index at a golf club in the following counties: Allegheny, Cattaraugus, or Chautauqua. This also includes the NYSGA eClub - Western NY, but the player must reside in one of these counties.

 

ENTRIES, DEADLINE, AND REFUND POLICY

  • Entries: An entry must be submitted online with payment prior to the deadline. Late entries will not be accepted, regardless of reason.
  • Entry Fee: $125. Includes golf, awards, prizes (gift certificates to host club pro shops).
  • Deadline: Entries must be received prior to the deadline (12PM EST on Friday, September 8, 2023). Late entries will not be accepted.
  • Refund Policy: The entry fee, less a $20 service fee, will be refunded if a player withdraws prior to the close of registrations. No refund will be awarded after the registration deadline.

 

CHAMPIONSHIPS, SCHEDULE, AND FORMAT

  • Format: 54 holes of individual stroke play
  • Cut: There is no cut in 2023.
  • Schedule (PM Tee Times):
    • Friday, September 15 // Round 1 // Cardinal Hills GC - White Tees
    • Saturday, September 16// Round 2 // Chautauqua GC (Lake) - Blue Tees
    • Monday, September 18 // Round 3 // Moon Brook CC - Course #2
  • Ties: In the event of a tie after 54 holes, a hole-by-hole playoff will be used to determine the champion. All other ties for prizes will be broken using the USGA method of matching scorecards.

 

INFORMATION & PAIRINGS
Complete Championship details, including information about pairings and starting times, will be emailed to players and posted on this website shortly after the close of entries. Pairings for the first two rounds will be announced in advance. The final round pairings will be determined using the 36-holes scores with low scorers starting last.

 

WORLD AMATEUR GOLF RANKINGS (WAGR)
This is a USGA/R&A World Amateur Golf Ranked event.

NYSGA EXEMPTIONS
The winner of this championship will earn an exemption, if eligible, to compete in the 2024 NYS Men's Amateur & Mid-Amateur Championships.

RULES

All play will be governed by the USGA Rules of Golf.

 

GOLF CARTS

The use of golf carts is permitted. The rental fee is payable in the host club pro shop prior to each round.

 

CADDIES

The use of a caddie is permitted. The NYSGA's One-Seat Policy is in effect - if a player brings a caddie and rides, either the player or his caddie can ride, never both at the same time. See NYSGA Policies for more information.

PRIZES

Pro shop credit (prize payouts) will be awarded to approximately 40% of the field that makes the 36 hole cut.
