2023 U.S. Mid-Amateur Qualifying - George Wright GC

Practice Rounds: Players may arrange a practice round by contacting the golf shop and identifying themselves as a competitor in the field. Practice rounds will be offered based on club availability within the timeframes listed below. 

 

Availability:

  • To schedule a practice round - please contact the golf shop at (617) 364-2300 and introduce yourself as a competitor.
  • One discounted practice round is available per competitor - WEEKDAYS ONLY - and based on availability. 
  • Practice rounds booked on weekends will be subject to the posted rates.

Notes

  • Competitors will be required to pay a mandatory $20 cart/trail fee for their practice round.

-Cash and/or Credit Card Accepted.

  • Practice rounds are for competitors only (no caddies, parents, outside spectators, etc.).
  • Competitors may be paired with other competitors during their practice round.
  • Only one ball may be played per competitor during their practice round.

 

Starting Times:  Play will begin at 7:30 AM off the 1st & 10th tee. Pairings & Starting Times will be available after the close of entries and can be accessed by clicking the "Starting Times & Parings" tab above. There will be no registration on the day of the event, please report to your scheduled starting tee to receive local rules, hole locations, scorecard, etc. at least 10 minutes prior to your starting time.

 

Withdrawals:  To withdraw from a qualifier, please login to the USGA Portal and click WITHDRAW and select the Championship and Reason for withdrawing. If applicable, any refund will be processed within 5-7 business days. Once submitted, all withdrawals are final. If you need to withdraw within 48 hours of the qualifier, please also e-mail Steve Yatrousis at syatrousis@massgolf.org. 

 

Qualifying & Alternate Spots Available: 3 Qualifying Spot(s) and 2 Alternate Spots. Qualifying players will advance to the to the 42nd U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship at Sleepy Hollow Country Club (Scarborough, New York) 

 

Distance Devices:  The use of distance measuring devices is permitted.

 

Caddies & Push Carts: Players are permitted to employ a caddy and/or use a push cart. 

 

Competition Tees/ Yardage: Competition Tees & Yardage are approximate and subject to change. Play will be approximately from 6,500 yards (Blue Tee Set) (Par 70). 

 

Golf Shop, Locker Room and Practice Facilities: The practice facilities will be open and available at 6:30am. George Wright GC does not have a driving range. 

 

Food & Beverage: Lunch will be available for purchase in the George Wright clubhouse starting at 11:30 AM. 

 

Dress Code:  Please observe the USGA dress code as stated in the application.

*There will be no registration on the day of the event - please report to your scheduled starting hole to receive local rules, scorecard, etc. 10 minutes prior to your starting time.
