2023 Sheeran Modified Scotch Tournament

Entry Fee: $225/18 holes per team

Entries Open: 07/25/2023 at 10:00 am

Entries Close: 09/08/2023 at 5:00 pm

 

Eligibility: 

  • Two person teams
  • Amateur golfer teams who are legally married or in a legal domestic partnership and each have an active Mass Golf Membership with a Handicap Index® not exceeding 24.0 (as determined by the Handicap Revision on the date of entry)

 

Entry Procedures: 

Entries and fully paid entry fees must be received through the Mass Golf Online Entry process by 5:00pm EST on the published entry deadline.

 

Field: 

Entries will be on a first come, first served basis. After the field is full a waitlist will automatically start.

 

Format: 

  • 18 holes of Modified Scotch format (commonly known as Modified Foursomes)
  • Both golfers hit their tee shot and select which drive they want to use. Then they play alternate shots into the hole. 
  • Gross and Net Divisions

 

Handicaps: 

60% of lower handicap plus 40% of higher handicap for team handicap. Indexes computed on September 8, 2023.                

 

Caddies & Automotive Transportation: 

Cart fee is included in entry fee. Caddies and pull carts (at the host club(s) discretion) are permitted.

 

Food & Beverage: 

Mass Golf will be providing a complimentary lunch for all competitors.

 

Starting Time: 

Shotgun start at 9:00 AM.

 

Awards: 

The Sheeran Modified Scotch has a permanent trophy that will be engraved with the names of the low gross winners.  All ties will be decided by a matching of cards in accordance with USGA® recommended method.  Prize Certificates (gross & net places) will be given out and must be redeemed at Salem Country Club.

 

Rules of Golf: 

The USGA Rules of Golf, Local Rules and Terms of Competitions for Mass Golf Tournaments govern all play.

Withdrawal & Refund Policy: 

Competitors, who have submitted an entry for a Mass Golf event and wish to withdraw for any reason, MUST notify the Mass Golf staff contact for the event (listed on each event page) or the Mass Golf office in writing (e-mail is acceptable and encouraged) or by phone. 

  • At least seven days prior to the event
    • entry fee minus a $20 administrative fee will be refunded
  • Less than seven days and at least 48 hours prior to the event
    • 50% of entry fee will be refunded
  • Within 48 hours of the event
    • no refunds will be processed
