History of the Women's Play Day: The Women's Play Day inaugural event took place in 2022. This event is a way to introduce women to Mass Golf in a noncompetitive format. The fun, casual and non-competitive atmosphere is the perfect combination for you to enjoy a day of golf with old and new friends.
Format:
- 18 holes of Individual Shamble format in groups of 3 or 4.
- A Shamble Format is as follows:
- Each golfer hits a tee shot and the best tee shot is selected.
- Everyone plays their next shot from the location of the best tee shot.
- From their, each golfer can finish the hole playing their own ball or pick up at any time!
Tees: Mass Golf Red Tees from ~4,754 yards. The course will play as a Par 73.
Shotgun Times: 2:30 p.m. shotgun start
Scorecards: Paper scorecards will be provided to all participants for the player’s own notes.
Practice Areas: The driving range and putting green will be accessible before play starting at 1:00 p.m. Driving range with mats is located across the road by the first tee. Putting green and short game area are available.
Pace of Play: Pace for this round is 4 hours and 30 minutes. Please ensure that you are keeping within a hole of the group in front of you.
Rules of Golf: The USGA® Rules of Golf, Local Rules and Terms of Competitions for Mass Golf Tournaments govern all play.
Mass Golf Policies & Procedures: Please refer to Policies & Procedures and Pace of Play Policy.
Distance-Measuring Devices: Permitted as specified in Mass Golf Policies & Procedures.
Bathrooms: Bathrooms are located in the clubhouse, locker room, 3rd tee, and 5th tee (Bathroom code: 0125)
Water and Snacks: Water stations are available on the course in various locations. There is a snack shack window located on the side of the pro shop for drinks and snack -CASH ONLY. Alcohol is available for purchase inside of the clubhouse for one hour following the round CASH ONLY.
Food and Beverage: A light fare will be available prior to the shotgun start at the Snack Shack next to the Pro Shop beginning at 2:00 p.m. Non- alcoholic beverages are available CASH ONLY at the snack shack.
