Terms of Competition
ELIGIBILITY
Entries are open to all male and female Maine professional and amateur golfers. Amateur players must play at a Maine Golf member club have a Handicap Index® from their member club.
ENTRY INFORMATION
All players must file an entry for the championship. Players must apply for the championship online via Golf Genius, the software Maine Golf uses to conduct tournaments. All players must have a Golf Genius account prior to registration.
Cost: Professional: $190
Amateur: $130
Junior: $80
The field will be limited to 132 total players. The professional field will consist of the first 40 players to apply. The remainder of the field is for male and female amateur golfers. Men will have 72 spots in the field and women will have 20 spots. In the event that any flight does not fill up, those spots will be allocated on a pro rata basis to the other flights.
We will use deferred payments for this championship. During registration, the player will need to include billing information with his application, but will only be charged if selected as one of the 132 players to compete in the championship. This eliminates the sense of automatic inclusion once payment is received upon registration as in years past.
In the event that an amateur flight is oversubscribed, the field will be chosen by taking the players with the lowest handicap indexes when entries close. Maine Golf has the final say in determining the professional and amateur fields.
Entry deadline for all players is June 16, 2023 at 11:59 pm.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
The championship will consist of two 18-hole rounds of stroke play.
Monday, June 26: First round, 18 holes
Tuesday, June 27: Second round, 18 holes
In the event of a tie for the overall championship, the winner will be decided immediately by a hole-by-hole playoff.
