2023 CGA Women's Net Match Play Championship

Willis Case Practice Facilities: Please note that there is NO driving range at Willis Case. 8 or so hitting nets are available, as well as a large practice putting green.
These are two seperate individual match play championships that are played simultaneously at the same host facility. When registering players will indicate which championship they are signing up for.
SENIOR Championship: This is the state senior match play championship. Players must have reached their 50th birthday at the start of the championship. All matches are played at scratch (no handicap). Handicap maximum 15.0. Click HERE for specific information on this championship.
NET Championship: Flighted and open to ALL ages. All matches are played with handicap by wheeling off the lowest player in the matches course handicap. Handicap maximum 30.0. Click HERE for specific information on this championship.
Host Facility: Willis Case Golf Course
Championship Dates: Monday, July 10 - Thursday, July 13
Registration Window: May 8 - July 2
Entry Fee: $250 per competitor
Field Size: 32 entrants.
Note: Championship is filled on a first come, first served basis using the registration date and time. A wait list will be maintained in case cancellation.
Format: Individual Match Play. The Championship will be played using the PGA TOUR WGC Match Play style Pod Play or Round Robin system. All players who register are guaranteed at least three (3) matches in the championship.
Players will be flighted and seeded by handicap index, with eight players per flight. After each player is flighted and seeded, each flight will be evenly split into two pods with four (4) players from the flight in each pod. During pod play players compete in three 18-hole matches against each of the other three players in their pod. The player in each pod with the highest point total at the end of pod play advances to the final match which will be competed against the other pod winner from their respective flight.
Championship Schedule:
Monday (7/10): Day 1 of Pod Play
Tuesday (7/11): Day 2 of Pod Play
Wednesday (7/12): Day 3 of Pod Play
Thursday (7/13): Final Matches for pod winners
Pod Structure/Seeding: Pod Structure will be weighted evenly with pod 1 containing 1v8, 4v5 and pod 2 containing 2v7, 3v6. Pod structure will be available to view under the Tournament Information tab once players are seeded.
Pod Play Scoring: There will be no extra holes during the pod play portion of matches. Scoring during pod play will be as follows:
Match Won – 1 point | Match Tied – ½ point | Match Lost – 0 Points.
Note: If there is a tie for the pod winner, a sudden death playoff will determine the person advancing from that pod.
Starting Times: Beginning at either 7:00am or 8:20am Monday-Wednesday. Beginning at 7:20am on Thursday.
Tee Time Estimates: Will be available under the Tournament Information tab.
Groupings: Players will play in groups of four (4) during Pod Play. There will be two individual matches taking place at each tee time.
Carts/Caddies:
Carts are optional, included in entry fee.
NOTE: Only two carts are allowed per group. Players have priority for carts over caddies.

Prizes: Merchandise gift certificates are awarded to each flights winner, runner-up and players finishing second within their pod. The Senior Championship winner and runner-up will each receive a trophy. The Senior Champion winner will be the state senior champion.

Yardage: Will be available under the Tournament Information tab.

Food & Beverage: Lunch will be provided on day three of pod play following play, included in entry.
Score Posting: Scores from match play events will NOT be posted by the CGA. The player may post their own score at the end of a round. The Tournament Director will always provide the applicable slope/rating for posting purposes.
