24th Connecticut Women's Open
June 5-6, 2023 - Rolling Hills Country Club
ELIGIBILITY: In addition to a player's agreement to abide by the CSGA General Tournament Policies, the following criteria is required:
Female Professional and Amateur Golfers:
- Amateur golfers must have an active USGA Handicap Index not exceeding 15.0
- Senior players must be 50 years of age as of June 5, 2023.

ENTRY FEES:
- Amateur Entry Fee - $150
- Professional Entry Fee - $250
- Senior Division Amateur Entry Fee - $150 (Sr. Amateur players will compete in the CWO Championship and a Senior Division. Senior Amateurs will be eligible for merchandise credit solely in the division with their highest finish.)
- Senior Division Professional Entry Fee - $300 (OPTION to compete in the CWO Championship and a Senior Division. Senior Professionals will be eligible for purse money in both the overall Championship and additionally in the Sr. Division.)
CHAMPIONSHIP PROPER INFORMATION:
Format: All players will play 18-holes of stroke play on both Monday, June 5th and Tuesday, June
6th. Round two pairings will be based on round one scores. The players with the low 36-hole total will be declared the Conn. Women's Open Champion and the Conn. Women's Open Senior Division Champion. A playoff will be conducted for either the overall Champion or Sr. Division Champion.
Transportation & Caddies: Players may walk, carry their own bag, utilize a caddie, a push cart or a golf cart for this Championship.
- The cost of a golf cart is $30.00 and is not included in the entry fee.
- Players will pay for a cart the morning of the event at the bag drop, cash only.
- Players must have a valid driver's license to drive the golf cart. Caddies may ride in a golf cart to drive the cart for a minor.
- Caddies may ride in a golf cart to drive the cart for a non-minor player if there are a sufficient amount of carts, and a vacant seat is available in the pairing.
- Players will be asked to pair up in golf carts as there is a two cart maximum per group.
- A limited amount of push carts are available for rent at $15.00 /round, cash only.
- A limited number of caddies are available for hire for this Championship. If you would like to reserve a caddie, please contact Jon Schukal at starter@rhcconline.com. Please also provide your cell phone number in the email, so Jon may email or call you back.
Purse & Prizes: The Conn. Women's Open Champion will have her name permanently engraved on the Valerie Bulkeley Trophy. The Champion, Senior Division champion and low amateur finishers will receive keepsake trophies. The size and composition of the final field will determine the full professional purse and amateur merchandise credit prize distribution for the Championship and Senior Division. This year's total purse for the Conn. Women's Open Championship will be guaranteed at $15,000, and may grow to $20,000 depending on the size of the field.
Practice Round: Practice rounds will be available to registered players during the weeks of May 22nd & May 29th. Players with lengthy travel to CT arriving the weekend before the event will have preferred practice round availability on Sunday, June 4th between 11:00 am & 4:00 pm. Tournament yardage will most closely correlate to the yardage played from a combination of the silver and white tees at approximately 5750 yards. The clubhouse will be open for dining following practice rounds on Sunday the 4th.
Food & Beverage: A luncheon buffet will be available to the players on both days and is included in your entry fee. Spectators and caddies are welcome to purchase lunch, cash only, no credit cards.
Accommodations: We anticipate there will be a limited amount of housing arrangements available with host club members. If interested in host housing accommodations, please send an email to mrupp@csgalinks.org with your contact info., transportation needs and note any pet or food allergies.
Withdrawals & Refunds: Refund less $25.00 administrative fee if requested prior to entry deadline. 50% refund after entry deadline and seven days prior to the event. Within seven days prior to the event there will be no refund.
All players are expected to complete the competition which they start. Acceptable reasons for withdrawal during a competition are physical injury, illness, or an emergency. Poor play is not an acceptable reason for withdrawal. A player who withdraws without an acceptable reason or without notifying CSGA personnel will be subject to suspension from future CSGA competitions. If a player is aware of a possibility of withdrawal (e.g. injury) she should notify the CSGA as soon as possible.
All players who start a round must return a scorecard personally to CSGA staff or a CSGA official even if they are officially withdrawing. Players who withdraw also must sign and attest that the hole by hole scores are correct for the fellow-competitor's scorecard they were keeping and return that card to the fellow-competitor or another marker in the group. Players who do not follow this policy will be subject to suspension from future CSGA competitions.
Conditions of Entry: By submitting an entry for any CSGA-administered competition, the contestant understands that their participation is at the sole discretion of the CSGA. A contestant may be removed from any competition at the discretion of the CSGA staff or Competitions Committee at any time before or during the competition. Incidents of unbecoming conduct or actions deemed to be detrimental to the image of the CSGA or the “Spirit of the Game” are grounds for such removal and suspension from future CSGA-administered competitions. These include, but are not limited to the following:
1) Willful damage of the golf course or golf course property
2) Club throwing or unnecessary club tossing
3) Offensive or unbecoming language
4) Public criticism of golf course or verbal abuse of CSGA staff, officials, volunteers, host club staff or other contestants
5) Potential endangerment of others
6) Conduct deemed unbecoming
