MEMORANDUM TO PLAYERS
CHAMPIONSHIPS, FORMAT, AND CUT INFORMATION
There are three championship divisions competing over two days of four-ball stroke play (36-holes total): Open, Senior, and Super Senior.

*The top teams by Handicap Index in the Open Division will play Kaluhyat (Sunday) and Shenendoah (Monday). The bottom 1/3 of this field by Handicap Index (approximately) will be on the opposite course with the Senior Divisions - Shenendoah (Sunday) and Kaluhyat (Monday)

REGISTRATION
Each team is required to have at least one player register at the NYSGA tent by the entrance to Turning Stone. All required materials will be staged on your golf cart.
PRACTICE ROUNDS
Are available on Saturday, May 20 FOR REGISTERED PLAYERS ONLY. Additional availability may be offered the week prior during non-peak hours - inquire with the pro shop. The fee is $60 and includes a cart. Tee times are required, call the Turning Stone pro shop at (877) 748-4653 x 2.
DRIVING RANGE AND PRACTICE GREEN
The use of the driving range and practice facility is free for players (see schedule above).

We expect to play the following yardages - with some modifications based on weather and course conditions:
- Open Division

- Senior Division

- Super Senior Division

PLAYER LUNCH ON SUNDAY
A complimentary lunch is provided in the Shenendoah/Kaluhyat Clubhouse prior to the first round on Sunday. See the schedule of events for more information.
FOOD SERVICE
The Shenendoah/Kaluhyat Grill & Bar will be open daily and accepts cash/credit.
EXEMPTIONS
The winners of the 2023 NYS Men's Amateur Four-Ball Championship will be exempt from qualifying for the 2023 NYS Men's Amateur Championship (Wykagyl Country Club) and the 2023 NYS Men's Mid-Amateur Championship (Crag Burn Golf Club).
ON-COURSE WATER & SNACKS
Water bottles and fruit/snacks will be provided on the golf course for players.
GOLF CARTS
Are required and included in the entry fee.
SPECTATORS AND CARTS
Spectators are expected to maintain a reasonable distance (at least 20 yards) from players and to always walk with or ahead of the group they are following. Spectators must not give players advice, as doing so could result in the player being penalized. Spectators who are in breach of these recommendations may be subject to removal from the golf course.
The NYSGA will accommodate spectators with an ADA disability by allowing them to ride in their own golf cart. To request this accommodation, a spectator must complete and return the NYSGA Golf Cart Request Form at least 24 hours in advance.
LOCAL RULES AND CONDITIONS
Listed below are a number of important Conditions of Competition and Local Rules for this Championship.
- RULES OF GOLF; WHEN COMPETITION IS FINAL. Play will be governed by The Rules of Golf as approved by the USGA and R&A. Questions are to be referred to the NYSGA Rules Committee, whose decision will be final. The result of this Championship is final when the Championship trophy has been presented.
- NYSGA LOCAL RULES AND TERMS OF THE COMPETITION (HARD CARD). Download the 2023 NYSGA Hard Card (click here).
- GOLF BALLS; DRIVER HEADS. Model Local Rules G-1 and G-3 are in effect. Visit the USGA website for a list of approved golf balls (click here) and driver heads (click here).
WITHDRAWALS
To withdraw, promptly notify the NYSGA (call 315-471-6979, or e-mail champs@nysga.org). Failure to do so may result in disqualification from future NYSGA competitions. Substitutions are only permitted in the senior division since the field.
PACE OF PLAY
It is a condition that players must play without undue delay in accordance with guidelines established by the Committee. To view the NYSGA's Pace of Play Policy, click here.
EVACUATION PLAN
In the event of a discontinuance of play during this Championship, players must adhere to the evacuation plan distributed by the NYSGA.
PLAYER CONDUCT
Players and/or their guests must conduct themselves in a reasonable manner at all times. Any excessive display of anger, vulgar language, club throwing, alcohol abuse, illegal drug use, lack of golfing etiquette or disrespect to a fellow player or any other individual may be grounds or disqualification from any tournament. The NYSGA reserves the right to revoke a player's tournament entry, without a refund, at any time for conduct deemed inappropriate or damaging to the NYSGA.
