Dever E-Z-GO Spring Member Conference

 

The 2023 Dever E-Z-GO Spring Member Conference will be held at Marriott Griffin Gate in Lexington, KY on Monday, March 27.  The cost for the conference is $100.  PDR credits are available for participation in the day's events.

 

Attendees will earn 4 PDR credits for the business meeting and 3 PDR credits for the Education session.

As a reminder, all KPGA Members and Associates must attend either the 2022 Fall or 2023 Spring Member Conference to be eligible to compete in Kentucky PGA section events in the 2023 season (excluding PGA Members of 20+ years).

John M. Brown, CEO of GreatLIFE Golf, has spent a lifetime in the golf industry.  John’s father is a Master PGA Professional, who taught him the game.   John attended Hofstra & West Chester University where he played four years of collegiate golf and developed a strong interest in business, graduating with a Finance degree.   After graduating and spending two years in banking as a consumer loan underwriter, John entered the golf management space with Troon Golf as a Membership Director at The Peninsula Golf & Country Club, a signature Jack Nicklaus Course in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.  John spent six years with Troon Golf in different leadership roles before having the opportunity to launch Brown Golf Management in January of 2011.  John become the CEO of Brown Golf in June of 2017, growing the portfolio to twenty-five golf courses that included assets that were managed, leased and owned.   John has been the CEO of GreatLIFE Golf since September 2, 2022.

 

John was instrumental in launching a proprietary booking engine platform called GolfBack (www.GolfBackSolutions.com) in 2020 which includes three tools:  a booking engine, email/CRM and website.  As of February 2023, GolfBack has 80+ golf course clients using their booking engine technology.

Jason Harshbarger serves as CFO for GreatLIFE Golf, a national golf course ownership, management and consulting company.

From 2002 to 2006 Jason served as Corporate Controller for a national golf course company which owned and operated 29 golf courses in the Mid-Atlantic.  From 2006 to 2011, Jason served as Managing Partner of Harshbarger & Company LLC, a local accounting firm in Camp Hill, PA specializing in outsourced accounting for golf courses nationwide.

 

Jason also spent five years in public accounting, four of them with Ernst & Young.  During his four years with Ernst & Young, Jason served public and private clients throughout Central Pennsylvania and across the country, including those in industries such as sports and entertainment, technology and consumer and industrial products manufacturing.  He was primarily responsible for the completion of financial statement and other compliance audits, SEC filings and acquisition accounting for multi-location companies, including foreign subsidiaries.

 

Jason earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with an accounting concentration from Shippensburg University.  He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants as well as the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) and has maintained his CPA certification since 1999.  In 2011 Jason was honored by the PICPA as one of their “40 under 40” members to watch, in 2012 he was recognized by the Central Penn Business Journal as one of the region’s “Forty under 40” for his commitment to business growth, professional excellence and community service and in 2015 he was named the Central Penn Business Journal’s Financial Executive of the Year – Rising Star award recipient. Currently he is a member of the PICPA’s Speakers Bureau and Relations with Schools and Colleges Committees.
