ELIGIBILITY

• Open to male and female VSGA members of all ages.
  • Each team of four must have at least one (1) female golfer.
• All participants must hold an active GHIN number issued by a licensed VSGA member club in good standing.
• All participants must meet the USGA Rules of Amateur Status.

ENTRY FEE/DEADLINE

All players are required to submit an entry form with the entry fee of $400 by Monday, October 30, 2023.

• Entry fee includes all course fees (including cart) for all rounds of competition.

 

FORMAT

• 18-hole four-person captain's choice competition with gross and net prizes.
• Each player's handicap will be determined for the host club and the team handicap will be calculated using 25% / 20% / 15% / 10% from the lowest to highest handicap.
• The Handicap Index the day before the the first day of competition will be used.
• Divisions will be created as equally as possible, based on team handicap.

 

Sets of Tees

Three (3) sets of tees for men:

• Ages 49 & Under
• Ages 50-64
• Ages 65 & Over

Two (2) sets of tees for women:

• Ages 49 & Under with a Handicap Index of 9.9 or less
• Ages 50 & Over or Players of any age with a Handicap Index of 10.0 or higher

 

PRIZES

• Prizes will be awarded to overall low gross and low net teams (may come from any division).
• Additional gross and net prizes will be awarded in each division.

 

DONATIONS

Proceeds from this tournament go to the Spencer-Wilkinson Scholarship Fund, which started in 1996, which helps ensure that promising young girls - or simply those who love the game - from Virginia are provided an opportunity to continue their pursuit of higher education at colleges and universities.

 

The cornerstones behind the creating and funding of Spencer-Wilkinson scholarships are Debbie Spencer and Mary Nell Wilkinson. Both played collegiate golf at the College of William & Mary and are longtime supporters of the scholarship foundation.

Those who wish to make an additional contribution to the VSGA-VIP Scholarship Foundation may do so. Please make checks payable (separate from entry fee) to the Spencer-Wilkinson Fund. If you would like to donate to any other specific area please specify on the check.
