Welcome to

the 2023 O'Reilly

August 11th - 12th, 2023

Format:

The O’Reilly is a match play event consisting of five 9-hole matches over two days.  Immediately following the completion of Saturday’s matches, flight winners will compete for a share of the Shootout purse.

Scoring:

Scoring will be conducted based on a nine-point system.  Each hole will be worth one point.  Teams will be awarded one point for a win, 1/2 point for a tie, and 0 points for a loss.

Special Note:

  • Any team that wins all five matches will be deemed the flight winner regardless of flights final point totals.
  • No match may be won by more than a score of 7 points to 2 points. In the case of a 2 on 1 match, the score will be capped at 6 to 3 for the team with two players.

Flights & Tees Played:

  • All flights will be created by the combined team handicap index.
  • Each flight will be comprised of 6 teams and the event will have 10 flights.
  • Flights 1 & 2 will play the BLACK Tee Markers and Flights 10 will play the WHITE Tee Markers.  All other flights will play the Blue Tee Markers.

Handicaps:

  • All Members will compete at the current handicap index as of the 8/1 revision
  • All Guests will compete at their low index over the past 3 months as of the 8/1 revision
  • Flights will be created based on these indexes.
  • No player is allowed to receive more than one stroke per hole in any given match.
  • The committee also reserves the right for any additional reductions to individual indexes based on exceptional performance throughout the tournament.

Pace of Play:

In order to help expedite the pace of play with such a large field, we ask that groups keep pace with the group directly in front of them.  Additionally, if the hole has been decided then we ask that groups pick up and continue to keep pace with the field.

Local Rules:

The local rule allowing for an alternative to the penalty of stroke and distance on a ball hit out of bounds or lost is in effect for this event.  For more information on this and all other local rules please see your local rules packet.
