DRIVERS/GOLF BALLS
The Local Rule for Conforming Driver Heads is in effect, see Model Local Rule G-1. The Local Rule requiring that all golf balls used be on the List of Conforming Golf Balls is in effect. See Model Local Rule G-3. Please check the USGA website, www.usga.org, for a list of approved golf balls and drivers. The “One Ball Rule” is in effect. See Model Local Rule G-4.
GROOVES
The players clubs must conform to the groove and punch mark specifications in The Rules of Golf that are effective from January 1, 2010. See Model Local Rule G-2. “The exception for Ping Eye 2 Irons manufactured before 31 March 1990 is not in effect”
DISTANCE MEASURING DEVICES
The Rules of Golf allow DMD's if no other features are turned on.
PACE OF PLAY
Checkpoints will be placed at the 9th and 18th holes. Click here to view the Pace of Play Policy. It is the Ohio Golf Association's goal to encourage all players to play ready golf and keep the Pace of Play moving. Although we are asking for 4 hours and 30 minutes, we do think play could be 4 hours and 15 minutes if the entire group works together to play faster!

Players must not ride on any form of transportation during a round unless authorized by the Committee. Pull/Push carts are permitted.
CADDIES
Players are not permitted to have a caddie.
CODE OF CONDUCT
Ohio Golf Association expects all players to respect one another, the game and the host facility and their members at all times.
PERSONAL APPEARANCE
Contestants must be neat in appearance. No denim. No cargo pants or cargo shorts. Shirts must have collars.
CLUB POLICIES
Please remove hats indoors.
REPLACEMENT OF CLUB THAT IS BROKEN OR SIGNIFICANTLY DAMAGED
Model Local Rule G-9:
“Rule 4.1a (2) is modified in this way:
If a player’s club is “broken or significantly damaged” during the round by the player or caddie, except in cases of abuse, the player may replace the club with any club under Rule 4.1b(4).
When replacing a club, the player must immediately take the broken or significantly damaged club out of play, using the procedure in Rule 4.1c(1).
For the purposes of this Local Rule:
- A club is “broken or significantly damaged” when:
➢ the shaft breaks into pieces, splinters or is bent (but not when the shaft is only dented)
➢ the club face impact area is visibly deformed (but not when the club face is only scratched)
➢ the clubhead is visibly and significantly deformed
➢ the clubhead is detached or loose from the shaft, or
➢ the grip is loose.
Exception: A club face or clubhead is not “broken or significantly damaged” solely because it is cracked.
Penalty for Breach of Local Rule – See Rule 4.1b.” (Added 4/2019)
