2023 KS Boys & Girls Match Play Championship

Eligibility

The Top 16 boys and top 8 girls on the CLG Junior Player of the Year lists get invited to this event. Players receive POY points based on win/loss record in the tournament.

 

National Recognition

This event has AJGA PBERS Status. 

 

 

Format

Two days of competition - all match play. 

 

Boys division has 16 players and everyone is guaranteed three matches - two on Thursday and at least one on Friday with most everyone getting two matches on Friday. Championship match scheduled for Friday afternoon.

 

Girls division has 8 players and everyone is guaranteed two matches - two on Thursday and almost everyone getting a match on Friday. Championship match scheduled for Friday morning.

 

Schedule

Thursday AM: 7:30 - 9:00 am Match times (twosomes / Boys & Girls)

Thursday PM: 1:00 - 2:30 pm Match times (twosomes / Boys & Girls)

 

Friday AM: 7:30 - 9:00 Match times (twosomes / Boys & Girls)

Friday PM: 1:00 - 2:00 pm Match times (twosomes / Boys only)

 

Ties

Each match will be play out until its conclusion. A tied match after 18 holes will continue with extra holes until a winner is determined.

  

Entries & Fees

Invitations for this event will be sent out the week of July 4th to the top players on each Player of the Year List. Entry fee is $75 per player.

         

Rules of Golf, Competition is Final

Play will be governed by The Rules of Golf as approved by the USGA.  Questions will be settled by the on-site Rules Committee, whose decision will be final. The competition is final when the Championship trophy has been presented.  

  

Equipment

All golf balls and clubs must conform to USGA specifications.  Any unusual equipment or devices, such as gloves, unusual tees, alignment aids, braces, and the like are prohibited by The Rules of Golf.  

 

Dress Code

Proper golf attire is required.  Jeans, halter tops, tank tops, and athletic t-shirts are not permitted. Shoes with metal spikes are not permitted.
