VSGA Amateur Championship & State Open of Virginia Qualifying
ELIGIBILITY
- Open to VSGA members of all ages.
- All participants must hold an active GHIN number issued by a licensed VSGA member club in good standing.
- All participants must meet the USGA Rules of Amateur Status.

ENTRY FEES/DEADLINES
Qualifying
Players competing in one of the first 10 qualifiers (may only enter one) are required to submit an entry form with the proper entry fee by Monday, May 22, 2023. Entry fees are as follows:
- Amateur Championship Qualifying Only - $115
- State Open Qualifying Only - $115
- Both Qualifiers - $180
- Entry fee includes mandatory course fee for qualifying round.
- $80 of qualifying fees will be applied to the championship entry for successful qualifiers.
Amateur Last Chance Qualifier
Players competing in the Last Chance Qualifier are required to register online by 3:00 pm Friday, June 16, 2023. The entry fee of $135 includes the course fee at the qualifier and $80 of the qualifying fee is applied to the championship entry fee for successful qualifiers.
Successful Qualifiers
Amateur Championship: Those who successfully qualify for the Amateur Championship are required to pay the entry balance of $200 by June 16, 2023 which includes all course fees (including cart) for all rounds of competition. In addition, the VSGA will negotiate a discounted practice round fee with the host club.
State Open of Virginia: Those who successfully qualify are required to pay the entry balance of $120 by July 7, 2023 which includes all course fees (including cart) for all rounds of competition. In addition, the VSGA will negotiate a discounted practice round fee with the host club.
FORMAT
- All non-exempt players must qualify to play in each championship.
- The total number of participants at each qualifier will vary by site and will be filled by lowest Handicap Index as of May 22, 2023.
- The number of qualifying spots available at each qualifier will be determined based on participation and will be announced on-site.
