2023 SDGA Mid-Amateur Championship

Terms of the Competition

ELIGIBILITY

This championship is open to male amateur golfers who meet the following requirements:

  • Membership: Players must hold an active USGA/GHIN Handicap Index at a 2023 SDGA Member Club or be a member of the NYSGA eClub of Central NY (residence required in SDGA territory).

  • Age: Players must be at least 25 years old as of August 25, 2023.

  • USGA Handicap Index: Players must have an active USGA Handicap Index issued through a licensed golf club of no more than 8.4

 

FIELD SIZE AND WAIT LIST

The field is limited to the 48 lowest handicap players at the entry deadline.

 

ENTRIES, DEADLINE, AND REFUND POLICY

  • Entries: An entry must be submitted online with payment prior to the deadline. Late entries will not be accepted, regardless of reason.

  • Entry Fee: $120. This includes two rounds with golf, carts and lunch after Saturday's round, prizes, and awards.

  • Deadline: Entries must be received prior to the deadline (12PM EST on Monday, August 21, 2023). Late entries will not be accepted, regardless of reason.

  • Refund Policy: The entry fee, less a $20 service fee, will be refunded if a player withdraws 24 hours prior to the start of the event.

 

FORMAT

  • Format: The format is 36 holes of individual stroke play (no cut).
  • Yardage: The course will be set up to play approximately 6,028 yards (Blue Tees) par 70.

 

RULES

All play will be governed by the USGA Rules of Golf. Players will be provided a "Notice to Players" rules sheet containing local rules and conditions. The SDGA will have volunteer Rules Officials on the course to provide rulings and answer questions.

 

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

Friday, August 25 // Round 1 // Tee times begin at 11:00am-12:45pm
Saturday, August 26 // Round // Tee times begin at 11:00am-12:45pm.*
 
*Round 2 tee times are based on score (highest start first).

 

TEE TIME REQUESTS
The SDGA will make every effort to accommodate tee time requests, which must be submitted no later than 12PM on Monday, August 21st (click here). Pairing requests will not be accepted.

 

PRACTICE ROUNDS

Any player entered in the tournament may play a practice round for $25 cart included.  You must call the pro shop at (315) 245-1157.

 

PLAYER LUNCH ON SATURDAY

A complimentary box lunch will provided for all players on Saturday. Players are to pick up their box lunch before they tee off. Players will be asked to make their food selection on Friday when they tee off. 

 

FOOD & BEVERAGE

The club's restaurant opens at 11:00am. Credit card and cash accepted.

 

GOLF CARTS

The golf cart rental fee is included in the entry fee. All players must ride (ONE SEAT POLICY WILL BE ENFORCED).

 

RANGE

Bags of 40 balls will be available for $5.00.

 

AWARDS

Trophies will be awarded to the winners.

 

PRIZES

Prize cards to the host pro shops will be awarded to approximately 1/4 of the field.
