120th Massachusetts Women’s Amateur Championship

Entry Fee: $175.00

Entries Open: 5/10/2023 at 10:00am

Entries Close: 7/20/2023 at 5:00pm

 

Eligibility:

• Any female amateur golfer who has an active Mass Golf Membership.
• Handicap Index® not exceeding 10.0 (at the time of registration). – NEW IN 2023
• Have played and posted 5 rounds at any Mass Golf member club/course within 12 months of the entry close date.

 

Entry Procedures:

Entries and fully paid entry fees must be received through the Mass Golf Online Entry process by 5:00pm EST on the published entry deadline.

 

Format:

Competition will be 36 Holes at Stroke Play followed by Match Play (32 total Qualifiers - competing in one bracket).

 

Playing Handicap for the Osgood Trophy (low net from stroke play qualifying) will be calculated based on the August 10, 2023 Handicap Revision. Handicap Indexes used to determine a competitors Playing Handicap will not exceed 10.0.

 

Field:

The Championship Proper field is limited to 100 players. Entries will be selected in the order they are received (first come, first served).
 

Schedule:
Championship Proper

Round 1 - August 14 (18 Holes)
Round 2 - August 15 (18 Holes)
***The low 32 scorers will advance to Match Play on August 16. A tie for the final qualifying places will be determined by a hole-by-hole playoff.
Match Play - General Numeric Draw will be used. For purposes of determining places in the draw, ties in qualifying rounds will be decided by the order in which scores are returned, except that places of those participating in a play-off will be determined by performance in the play-off and if necessary, a blind draw.

 

Round of 32 - AM - August 16

Round of 16 - PM - August 16
Quarterfinals - AM - August 17
Semifinals - PM - August 17
Finals - AM - August 18 (18 Holes)

In the event of a tied match, (a) the winner will be decided immediately by a hole-by-hole play-off, and (b) the stipulated round is deemed to extend to as many holes as are required for a match to be won.

 

Caddies & Automotive Transportation:

Caddies and pull carts (at the host club(s) discretion) are permitted. Automotive transportation is NOT permitted in the Championship Proper.

 

Food & Beverage:

A complimentary luncheon will be available on August 14 for all competitors and throughout match play.

 

Starting Times:

Championship Proper Starting Times & Player Information will be emailed to all competitors shortly after the close of entries.

 

Prizes:

Merchandise certificates will be awarded and are only redeemable at the host site.

 

Trophy:

Permanent Trophies engraved with winners’ names.

Stroke play Medalist and (low net) Osgood Trophy. (Ties will not be broken)

 

Practice Rounds:

Practice round privileges are at the discretion of the qualifying site and championship proper host club(s). Mass Golf will provide details surrounding the availability of practice rounds ahead of the scheduled event; please refrain from contacting the host clubs until specific details are received from Mass Golf.

 

Additional Information:

The stroke play qualifying round scores will be used for the Mid-Amateur Award.

Withdrawal & Refund Policy:

Competitors who have submitted an entry for a Mass Golf event and wish to withdraw for any reason, MUST notify the Mass Golf office (email preferred). Entry fee will be refunded less a $20 administrative fee, regardless of reason, if Mass Golf is notified seven (7) days prior to the event. Entry fee will be refunded less 50% for any withdrawals received less than seven (7) days prior to the event. No refund will be processed for a withdrawal notification that is received on the scheduled date of an event.
