CHAMPIONSHIP DETAILS

 

Dates: September 23-24, 2023

 

Site: Emerald Valley Golf Club | Creswell, Ore.

 

Eligibility:
WOMEN: Entries are open to female amateur golfers with Handicap Indexes of 40.4 or less, must be members in good standing of an OGA Member Club and be at least 13 years of age as of September 23, 2023.

MEN: Entries are open to male amateur golfers with Handicap Indexes of 36.4 or less, must be members in good standing of an OGA Member Club and be at least 13 years of age as of September 23, 2023.

 

TEAM: Entries are open to teams of four amateur golfers who are members in good standing of the same OGA Member Club. Each OGA Member Club is limited to a maximum of 3 team entries. All contestants must be at least 13 years of age as of September 23, 2023.

Course Handicaps will be based on the September 6th Handicap Index. 

 

Format: 

Individual: 36-hole stroke play net competition. In the event of a tie, duplicate trophies will be issued. Flights and Course Handicaps will be based on the September 6th Handicap Index. 

 

 

Team: 36-hole stroke play individual and team competition. For the team competition the low 3 of 4 individual NET scores each day will represent the team’s aggregate. In the event of a tie for the Team Champion, the unused individual’s Net score of the final round will be counted. If teams are still tied, then the unused individual’s score of the first round will be counted. Should the tie still exist, duplicate awards will be issued. All players competing in the Net Team Championship will also be included in the individual championship and will compete  within their division and handicap flight. 

 

Note: Players will not be paired together in the same groups, instead they will be paired within their own division, and handicap flight. 

 

Entry Fee: $150

 

Team Entry Fee: $600

(Players that have been entered in the team competition will also be included in the individual competition.)

 

Entry Includes:

  • 3 rounds of golf - One practice round and two competitive rounds
  • OGA hosted lunch provided during the first round
  • Tee prizes
  • Merchandise certificate awards given to top finishers
  • Special awards from Jones Sports Co. will be awarded to the Men's, Women's Champions and Team Champions
  • THERE WILL BE NO GROSS PRIZES

 

Handicap: Course Handicaps are reduced according to USGA recommendations. Players receive 95% of Course Handicap to calculate the final Playing Handicap. Flights and Course Handicaps will be based on the September 6th Handicap Index.

 

Field Limit: The field will be limited to 144 players, including Men and Women. Entries will be accepted according to the date and time of entry and entry fee.

Exemptions: Defending Men’s Champion Jeff Bright and Women’s Champion Eva Corbin will be eligible for guaranteed entry into the Championship. Exempt players must meet the eligibility requirements and file an entry by the deadline.
