Eligibility -
 

Philadelphia Senior PGA Professional Championship Eligibility:

 

1. Must be eligibly employed and classified in one of the following membership classifications prior to the 1st round of a Section Senior PGA Professional Championship.

 

 

*Must be eligibly employed in one of the above-mentioned active membership active membership classifications or must be eligible for Life Member Classifications.

 

2. Must not have played in more than eight (8) combined Adams Pro Tour (APT), Asian Tour, Dakotas Tour, DP World Tour (formerly the European Tour), Epson Tour (formerly the Symetra Tour - LPGA), European Challenge Tour, European Legends Senior Tour (formerly the European Senior Tour), GPro Tour, JPGA Senior Tour, JPGA Tour, Korn Ferry Tour, Ladies European Tour (LET), LPGA Tour, Mackenzie TOUR-Canada, PGA Australia Tours, PGA New Zealand Tours, PGA TOUR, PGA TOUR Champions, PGA TOUR-China, PGA TOUR LatinoAmerica, The Safari Tour and The Sunshine Tour tournaments. The U.S. Open, U.S. Senior Open, U.S. Women’s Open, PGA Championship, KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship and KPMG Women’s PGA Championship are not included in the *8-tournament count.
 

**NOTICE for 2023 Section PPC Championships leading into the 2024 PGA Professional Championship, the number of “Professional Tours” that a PGA Member may participate in, and still remain eligible to compete in PGA Member Championships, will be reduced from eight (8) to four (4). This 4-tournament rule will be applied to all Championships & Player of the Year eligibility beginning in 2024. (Board Approval - June 2022)

 

Participants must also be a minimum of 50 years of age on October 24, 2023, the first round of the 2023 Senior PGA Professional Championship.

 

PGA of America reserves the right to determine whether any player meets eligibility and to reject any player who does not meet these requirements. A PGA member will not be eligible to participate if:


a) the member is serving a suspension from membership;

b) the member is suspended from tournament participation for National tournaments; or

c) the member is classified as Class F, Reserve, A-3, RM, LMC or HM.

 

Facility Fees - All facility fees have been included in the entry fee which include cart and range fees.

 

Field Size - The field size is limited to 60 players.

 

Format - Two rounds of individual stroke play.

POY Points Event This is a Skee Riegel Senior Player of the Year and a Super Senior Player of the Year championship points event.

 

Purse - The purse is $5,558, can be viewed by clicking here and is based on 47 players in the field plus additional sponsor dollars.

 

Qualifying Spots - The amount of qualifying spots available for the 35th Senior PGA Professional Championship at PGA G.C. (Port St. Lucie, FL) on Thursday, October 26 - Sunday, October 29, 2023 is based on a rolling average of the amount of players the Philly PGA had registered in the last five Philadelphia Senior PGA Professional Championships.  There will be 6 qualifying spots and alternate spots available this year (Dave McNabb exempted).
 
Registration - Starting in 2022, registration for the Philadelphia Senior PGA Professional Championship will be managed by the Philadelphia PGA Section via Golf Genius and not the PGA of America.  


Please make note of the tournament registration deadline below.  It is possible that a late entry will be permitted to play in the event as long as there is room in the event and the player was eligible as of the tournament entry deadline.  There is no guarantee with a player that missed the deadline and is eligible by the tournament entry deadline that he/she will get into the event.

 

Registration Closes - Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. 

 

Entry Fee - $245 

Super Senior Division (SSD) - $160 (Competitors in the SSD will not be eligible to advance).

 

Successful qualifiers will move forward to play in the 35th Senior PGA Professional Championship at PGA G.C. (Port St. Lucie, FL) on Thursday, October 26 - Sunday, October 29, 2023.
