Championship conducted to determine the top Senior Four-Ball team in Louisiana for 2023. Entrants must be 50 years of age by midnight, October 14, 2023

Limited to the first 80 team entries. Championship to be conducted over 36 holes. Super Senior Championship will also be conducted concurrently for participants who are 65 years of age and older.

 

Entry deadline: October 3, 2023, 5 PM CST

 

ENTRIES: Fee, Withdrawal/Refunds. Entry fee of $400 per two man team, which includes cart fee for practice round and tournament play. Entry fee will be refunded regardless of reason if LGA is notified, in writing, before the close of entries, October 3, 2023, 5 PM CST. After the close of entries, fee will be refunded only in the event of injury or illness provided notification (accompanied by a doctor's statement) reaches LGA office by October 13, 2023. A $70 service charge will be deducted from all refunds. Pairings and starting times for first round of play will be posted at the Host Club, Cypress Bend on Friday, October 13, 2023. Pairings and starting times will also be posted on the LGA's website and emailed to participants on or around October 5, 2023.

Super Senior Championship: In addition to the Overall Championship, there will be a Super Senior Championship for participants who are 65 years of age and older. Super Seniors will play from a forward set of tees and compete only in their division. Important Note: Team Age-Group division determined by younger teammate’s age. Second day's pairings will be based on Round 1 score.

Dress Code: Competitors must be neat in appearance and wear appropriate attire. No gym shorts, cutoffs, blue jeans, tee shirts, etc. Shorts must be Bermuda length. Important Note: Cypress Bend is a spikeless facility and all competitors will be required to wear spikeless shoes. 

Eligibility: Entries are open to any Louisiana resident (as of at least 90 days prior to the Championship) who is an amateur golfer (as defined by the USGA) holding membership in a LGA member club in good standing (2023 club and individual dues must be paid). Entrants must be 50 years of age by midnight, October 14, 2023. See above for Super Senior Championship. Non-amateurs are not eligible. Entries are subject to rejection at any time (including during the Championship) by the LGA. Reasons for rejection may include unbecoming conduct.

Field/Format: Limited to the first 80 team entries. All 80 teams will play 18 holes of Four-Ball stroke play (scratch/no handicaps) each day (October 14-15).

Practice Privileges: Practice privileges are extended to participants in the Championship at Cypress Bend on October 13, 2023. Cart fee paid by LGA.

 


Prizes: Prizes will be awarded to the top five teams in the Overall Championship and the top two teams in the Super Senior Championship. In case of a tie for the Overall or Super Seniors Championship, a sudden death playoff will take place immediately upon conclusion of play on Sunday. All other ties, which determine prizes or recognition, will be decided by matching scorecards, per USGA method in Appendix I.

Rules of Golf: Play will be governed by the current USGA Rules of Golf and LGA Rules of Play Card. All questions will be settled by the LGA Rules Committee, whose decision will be final.
