UTAH STATE AMATEUR QUALIFIER - LAST CHANCE
Glendale Golf Course
June 16, 2023
REGISTRATION TIMES
June 15th, 8:00am-10:00am
*NEW IN 2023* Last Chance Qualifier to Feature Randomized Roster
The Last Chance Qualifier for the Utah State Amateur will have a different registration process in 2023. In previous years, Utah State Amateur hopefuls had to register within seconds of registration opening in order to get a spot in Last Chance Qualifying.
In order to give all interested competitors sufficient time to register, registration will open at 8:00am on Thursday, June 15th and will remain open until 10:00am of the same day. Players that register in this window will be put on a pending registration list. The UGA will then use it's tournament software, Golf Genius, to randomize that pending registration list. The top 84 players on that randomized list will be promoted into the field and the rest will be put on a waitlist. The UGA will notify players whether or not they got into the event by 12:00pm.
Payment is not required to register for the pending registration list. Only those that gain entry into the Last Chance Qualifier will be charged the $80 entry fee.
*Players that are alternates from one of the 10 previous qualifiers are eligible to compete in the Last Chance Qualifier and will retain their alternate status*
LAST CHANCE QUALIFYING
The number of qualifying spots will be four. Tee times will be in the morning from 7:30-9:30.
A total of 156 players will advance to the finals. The number of qualifying spots at each site will be determined by percentage, each field's percentage will be the same. There will be playoffs immediately following play at each site to determine the final qualifying spots and alternates for the Championship. Players must be present, ties will not be taken.*
*The UGA reserves the right to extend the field at any time.
ALTERNATE INFORMATION
Two alternates will be determined from each qualifying location. Alternate order will be determined by 1) the playoff for the final spot, or 2) a playoff for the two alternate positions. If the alternates are not present for the playoff they will be determined by lot.
How alternates will advance to the Championship:
1) If a player qualifies for the State Amateur and subsequently withdraws the next available alternate from that players qualifying location will be selected. If the two alternates from the players qualifying location are unavailable or have already been placed in the field the next available alternate on the championship allocation will be selected.
2) In the case that an exempt player withdraws from the championship the first available alternate from the championship allocation schedule will be selected.
