SCGA CHAMPIONSHIP REGISTRATION INFORMATION
46th SCGA SENIOR AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP:
Ironwood CC (South), Palm Desert
May 22-24, 2023
CHAMPIONSHIP FORMAT:
- 54 holes; stroke play.
- 84 players, comprised of exempt players and qualifiers, will compete in the championship.
Monday, May 22: Round 1 (18 holes)
Tuesday, May 23: Round 2 (18 holes)
Following the second round, the field will be cut to the low 30 scores (and ties)
Wednesday, May 24: Round 3 (18 holes)
All non-exempt players will participate in an 18-hole, stroke-play qualifying round.
QUALIFYING ROUNDS (18 Holes):
Wednesday, April 26: Rustic Canyon GC, Moorpark
Thursday, April 27: Steele Canyon GC (Ranch/Vineyard), Jamul
Thursday, May 4: El Dorado Park GC, Long Beach
Wednesday, May 10: Soboba Springs GC, San Jacinto
NOTE: Players may only attempt to qualify once.
ELIGIBILITY: This championship is open to amateurs who are members of a current SCGA member club with a Handicap Index of 9.4 or less at the time of registration. Entrants must have reached their 55th birthday by May 22, 2023.
EXEMPTIONS: All exempt players must still meet eligibility requirements and register online for the championship prior to the entry closing date. The current list of exemptions can be found online by clicking here.
ENTRIES OPEN: Wednesday, January 11, 2023
ENTRY DEADLINE: Sunday, April 16, 2023
PLAYER INFORMATION & PAIRINGS: Complete tournament details, including information about practice rounds, pairings, starting times, and yardages played, will be emailed and posted on scga.org/senioram after entries close.
ENTRY FEE: $140
LATE ENTRIES: The SCGA accepts late entries, assuming space is still available at the given event. Late entries will be subject to an additional $20 fee and can only be processed over the phone or through email.
REFUND POLICY: Requests for refunds prior to the entry closing date will be honored less a $20 administrative fee. Requests received after the entry closing date and 48 hours prior to the event will be honored less 50% of the entry fee. No refunds will be honored within 48 hours of the event.
