TOURNAMENT INFORMATION

POLICIES, PROCEDURES, & GUIDELINES:

FORMAT:

  • All players will participate in an 18-hole, individual stroke-play round.
  • Maximum Score: During the play of this competition, a player is allowed a maximum score of 9 GROSS STROKES on any hole. Please refer to Rule 21.2 for more information.
  • Flight Breakdown (Players are flighted and will play to their Handicap Index as of September 6):
    • Mission Flight: 9.4 & below.
    • Pacific Flight: 9.5 & above.
  • Roger Dunn gift cards will be sent digitally to the top-five net finishers in each flight and the overall low gross individual.
  • All ties will be broken using the USGA suggested method of matching scorecards (Committee Procedures: Section 5A (6)).

 

REGISTRATION:

Players must check-in at the SCGA tent near the driving range to obtain their scorecard.

 

STARTING TIMES & PAIRINGS: 

  • Starting times and pairings will be e-mailed to players and posted on scga.org one week in advance of the tournament.
  • Starting time is 7:30 a.m. shotgun start.
  • Lead groups should plan to be at their assigned tee 10 minutes in advance of their starting time. Subsequent groups are encouraged to arrive once the preceding group has teed off. Players arriving late will be penalized under Rule 5.3a of the Rules of Golf. For example, the 9:00 a.m. starting time is defined as 9:00:00, and players arriving after that time are considered late.

   

TEES & YARDAGE:

  • MEN in the MISSION FLIGHT will play from the ORANGE tee markers. Course Rating: 71.6 / Slope : 130 / Approx. 6,538 yards / Par: 72.
  • MEN in the PACIFIC FLIGHT will play from the YELLOW tee markers. Course Rating: 70.7 / Slope : 127 / Approx. 6,326 yards / Par: 72
  • WOMEN in ALL FLIGHTS will play from the GREEN tee markers. Course Rating: 74.0 / Slope: 127 / Approx. 5,636 yards / Par: 72.

 

PRACTICE ROUNDS:

  • Players may plan for practice rounds at their own expense. To book a practice round, visit https://www.indianwellsgolfresort.com/book_tt/.
  • Practice rounds are a privilege, not a right. The SCGA works with a variety of facilities throughout the course of the year, all of which have unique policies and procedures when it comes to practice rounds. These opportunities will be provided at the sole discretion of the host facility.
  • We are guests and must follow all facility policies and guidelines when on property. Behavior during practice rounds will be subject to the SCGA Code of Conduct.

 

DRIVING RANGE:

  • The driving range will be available by sunrise. Range balls will be staged on the driving range.
  • Range balls will be provided compliments of Indian Wells GR and the SCGA.

FOOD SERVICE & PURCHASES:

  • The cafe will be open at 6:00 a.m. The restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner.
  • Cash and major credit cards will be accepted for all purchases. 

 

RULES OF PLAY:

 

GOLF CARTS & PULL/PUSH CARTS:

  • Golf carts are included as part of the entry fee; however, players who are able and willing to walk may do so.
  • There will be a maximum of two carts per group and two bags per cart. Players wishing to ride will be expected to share a cart with another player.
  • Each player is entitled to one seat in a cart. If a player brings a caddie, the caddie may ride provided there is a vacant seat in one of the carts. Otherwise, either the player or the caddie must walk.
  • Drivers must be at least 16 years of age (or older if club policy dictates).
  • Pull or push carts are permitted.

 

CADDIES & SPECTATORS:

  • Players may provide their own caddie (see section on Golf Carts).
  • Spectators are permitted but are not allowed in carts. Spectators must adhere to all policies set forth by the facility.

 

DRESS CODE:

Appropriate golf attire must be worn, including adhering to any club-specific policies.

 

CANCELATIONS & REFUNDS:

  • To withdraw for any reason prior to the start of a SCGA competition, a player must notify the SCGA Championships & Golf Operations Department at champs@scga.org.
  • Failure to notify the SCGA will subject the player to suspension from future SCGA competitions.
  • Refund Policy:
    • Cancelation prior to the entry closing date: Full refund less a $20 administrative fee.
    • Cancelation after the entry closing date and more than 48 hours prior to the start of the competition: 50% of the entry fee.
    • Cancelation within 48 hours of the start of the competition: No refund.

 

SCGA ONE-DAY SERIES POINTS PROGRAM:

Participants will receive points for participating in each One-Day Series Tournament, with top finishers earning additional points based on their net finish. For more information on the SCGA One-Day Series Points Program and the One-Day Series Player of the Year award click here.

 

The top finishers will receive the following point denominations in addition to the participation bonus.

1st – 100 points                                                 6th – 25 points

2nd – 65 points                                                  7th – 20 points

3rd – 50 points                                                   8th – 15 points

4th – 35 points                                                   9th – 10 points

5th – 30 points                                                   10th – 5 points

 

Participation Bonus – 10 points

 

In the event of a tie for any place on the One-Day Series Points List, the tie shall be broken based on:

  1. Number of 2023 One-Day Series tournaments participated in
  2. Best finish in a 2023 One-Day Series tournament

 

SCGA ONE-DAY SERIES CHAMPIONSHIP: At the conclusion of the One Day Series, the top 32 players on the One-Day Series Points List will qualify for the SCGA One-Day Series Championship. The champion will receive a $500 Roger Dunn gift card and a crystal trophy. The runner-up will receive a $250 Roger Dunn gift card and a pewter plate.

 

SCGA ONE-DAY SERIES PLAYER OF THE YEAR: The One-Day Series Player of the Year award will be presented to the participant with the highest point total after the One Day Series Championship. The Player of the Year will also receive a $750 Roger Dunn Gift Card and a commemorative framed flag.
