The Vermont Senior Amateur is a 36 hole stroke play event open to all Vermont amateurs age 55 and older as of September 5, 2023.

 

Eligibility: 

  • Vermont Resident - Any male amateur golfer, as of the day of the tournament, who is a legal resident of Vermont and is a member in good standing, of a member club of the Vermont Golf Association.

OR

  • Non-Vermont Resident - Any male amateur golfer, as of the first day of the tournament, who is not a legal resident of the State of Vermont, but has been a member in good standing of any Vermont Golf Association member club for the past three years, has an active GHIN handicap issued by a Vermont Golf Association member club and has posted a minimum of 10 rounds of golf in the last 12 months outside of the major championships at any VGA member club.

Handicap Index in order to be deemed eligible to compete in VGA sponsored events.

 

Format:

36 Hole Stroke Play - 18 holes each of the two days. Gross and Net prizes to be awarded, as well as Senior POY points.

 

Divisions

  • Senior (55-64)
  • Super Senior (65+)
  • Legends (70+)

 

*Everyone entered into the Senior and Super-Senior flights are also entered into the Combined Senior-Super Senior Division. Whoever has the lowest total at the end of the tournament will be the Senior Amateur Champion. A player can only win one prize.

 

The Legends Flight is optional for players ages 70 and over. Players choosing to play in this flight will play from a Senior set of tees and will not be eligible to win the overall Senior Championship or participate in the Lee Davis Cup competition. Players in the Legends Flight will compete against only players 70 years of age and older in that flight and will play for prizes based on the number of entrants in the flight.

 

Lee Davis Cup awarded to the team with the lowest three gross scores from a club having 3 or more golfers entered in either the Senior or Super Senior Flight.  Players belonging to multiple clubs must declare which club they will be playing for in the Lee Davis Cup prior to the start of the tournament.  If they do not declare which club they will be playing for prior to the start of the tournament, the home club listed in their player profile will determine their Lee Davis Cup team affiliation.

 

Entry Fee: $150.00 per player

Registration: On-line registration opens on March 14, 2023.

Field: The field will be limited to 100 players. Golfers will be added off the waitlist as they are ranked in order.

Cart Policy: Carts are not mandatory.  

Entry Deadline: Entries must be received by August 29, 2023. If a player who is not on the waiting list wishes to enter the tournament after the entry deadline, and if there is an available spot for that player, there will be an additional charge of $10.00 per person.

Tee Times/Pairings: Tee times will be posted on this web portal as soon as practicable after the close of entries. They will also be emailed to all participants.

Practice Rounds: Please contact the pro-shop at Brattleboro CC to schedule your practice rounds. $25 to walk, $40 to ride.

Dress Code: Appropriate golf attire - collared shirts - no denim. If in doubt, please call the pro shop.

Cancellations: Cancellations can be made on line prior to the start of the Championship. Cancellations made before the close of entries will be refunded in full less a 3% credit card processing fee. After the close of entries and prior to the start of the tournament, entry fees will be refunded less a $50.00 cancellation fee. No refunds will be given after the start of the tournament.

Conditions/SchedulesThe VGA reserves the right to alter any of the conditions and schedules herein. The decision of the VGA in any matter shall be final.
