CONTESTANT INFORMATION
Listed below is the contestant information for the 2023 Onondaga Golf and Country Club (OGCC) Junior Invitational. Carefully review this information ahead of your arrival at OGCC:

Format, Rules, and Ties
The format of the OGCC Junior is 18-holes of individual stroke play. The USGA’s Rules of Golf and any Conditions or Local Rules adopted by the OGCC Junior Committee will govern play. If a tie exists in either division at the end of regulation play, a sudden death playoff will be used to determine the champion.
Field Size
The field is limited to the first 60 boys and 21 girls to register (81 player field). Any invited player to register after the field size is reached will be added to a wait list in the order they registered.
Registration
Contestants must register immediately upon their arrival at Onondaga. The registration table will be located adjacent to the pro shop (small building near driving range).
Driving Range at OGCC
Due to the field size, contestants are limited to their use of the driving range at OGCC to 15 minutes with times scheduled based on the first letter of their last name:
- A - L: 11:00am - 11:30am
- M - Z: 11:30 - 12:00pm
The driving range at OGCC is limited to shots no more than 230 yards.
Practice Putting Greens and Short Game Area
Contestants can use the practice putting greens and the short game practice area (located near entrance) between 11am-12pm.
Every contestant must first go to the registration table upon arrival. Pro shop will accept credit cards or cash, but the dinning room only accepts cash. Guests are asked to not wear denim and to use cell phones discretely on club grounds. There will be complimentary snacks for the contestants out on the golf course during play.
Shotgun Start
The OGCC Junior will begin as a shotgun start at 12:30pm. Contestants will be instructed to gather at the cart staging area for announcements and instructions approximately twenty minutes prior to the shotgun start.
Live Scoring
One player from each group will be required to enter unofficial scores for each player into the Golf Genius app. Please download this app before your arrival at the golf course. The code will be provided on your scorecard.
Each player will be required to keep an official scorecard for another player in their group.
Awards Ceremony
Upon the completion of scoring, there will be a brief awards ceremony. It is requested that players and guests stay on grounds until the completion of this ceremony.
RULES AND REGULATIONS
Spectators
Spectators, including parents and coaches, are welcome to watch the competition on the entire golf course. Spectators are to stay “outside the ropes”, meaning areas well outside of play. Spectators are not permitted to walk alongside a player, nor are they permitted to give instructions or advice. Golf attire is requested of spectators, no denim or cargo shorts. Cell phone use must be limited to texting, phone calls may be taken in vehicles or phone booths located in the clubhouse.
Food and Beverage
Complimentary snacks for contestants will be available on the course during play. No meals are included.
The clubhouse restaurant will be open during lunch hours, cash is the only payment option that can accepted.

Caddies
No caddies or riding carts are allowed – you may bring your own pull cart, none are available through the pro shop.
Pro Shop
The pro shop is open to contestants and spectators. Credit cards and cash are accepted.
Cell Phones
The use of cell phones is limited to texting and use for Live Scoring. Phone calls are to be made in vehicles.
Attire and Player Conduct
Onondaga requests golfers and participants to wear traditional golf clothes (no denim or cargo shorts). For boys, golf shirts must be always tucked in. Golf hats are not to be worn in the clubhouse.
There will be NO tolerance of foul language, club throwing or slamming, and poor sportsmanship.
Locker Rooms
Participants can use the locker facilities to put on their golf shoes and change after playing if they wish.
Marshals
Members, playing the role of Marshals, will be on the course to assist with speed of play, rules questions/issues, and general etiquette.
