U.S. Junior Amateur Championship Qualifying Round

132 players

FORMAT &

QUALIFYING PLACES

18 holes of individual stroke play for 6 qualifying spots and 2 alternate spots to advance to the 2023 U.S. Junior Amateur to be played July 24-29 at Daniel Island Club in Charleston, SC.

PRACTICE ROUNDS

One practice round per player (players only) at the designated rate below. Practice rounds will be available on the designated dates and times below. Please call University of Georgia Golf Course (706-369-5739) to reserve your practice round starting time.  Carts may be used during the practice round.  Practice round rate is $45 plus tax regardless of whether the player rides or walks.  Practice round rate includes a medium bucket of range balls.  Credit cards ONLY will be accepted methods of payment in the golf shop.

CARTS

Practice round fees are $45 plus tax.  Credit cards will be accepted. During the qualifying round, a caddie may transport a player’s bag on a cart for a fee of $17.75 plus tax.  Spectator carts are strictly prohibited in all instances.

YARDAGES & TEES

A yardage sheet will be available on-site and in the Golf Genius event portal.  Yardages are approximate and may be adjusted.

GOLF SHOP &

DRIVING RANGE:

The golf shop and driving range will open by 7:00 a.m. the morning of qualifying.

STARTING TIMES

Starting times for tournament play will be assigned by the USGA/GSGA and will be posted on the event portal.  You may visit www.gsga.org for complete pairing information and starting times. 

REGISTRATION

NO formal registration will be held on site.  Players should arrive to their assigned starting tee ten minutes before their starting time to allow for the starter to go over instructions and rules of play.  Player withdraws must be called in to the GSGA office at (678) 324-5975 or e-mailed to Josh Stanley at jstanley@gsga.org

CADDIES

A player may provide her own caddie.  No caddies are available from University of Georgia Golf Course.  A player may not use a parent, step-parent, or guardian as a caddie during Sectional Qualifying or the Championship Proper.  Caddies may rent a golf cart for $17.75 plus tax to transport a competitor’s golf bag on the day of qualifying.

PREFERRED LIES

Per the USGA, for all USGA Championships and qualifying rounds, the following policy is in effect: A Local Rule authorizing “Preferred Lies” or “Winter Rules” is NEVER permitted.

PERSONAL APPEARANCE

In Local and Final Qualifying stages and the Championship proper, players must be neat in appearance with respect to clothing and personal grooming. The Committee in charge decides whether this requirement has been met and has the authority to withdraw the entry of a player who does not comply.

FOOD & BEVERAGE SERVICE

Food and beverages will be available in the Campus Market Express throughout the day beginning at 7:00 a.m.  Credit cards will be accepted for purchases.

PRIZES

A Silver medal will be presented to the low scorer at the conclusion of the qualifying round.
