AGES/ELIGIBILITY

 Open to male amateur golfers under the age of 19 and with a handicap index of 12.0 or lower; a competitor must and not be 19 as of June 20.

CHAMPIONSHIP FEE

Player’s advancing to the Championship through qualifying will be responsible for a $150.00 Championship fee.  This fee will be charged to the player upon being transferred to the Championship proper in the online registration system after your qualifying round has concluded.  Exempt players have no additional championship fees aside from the practice round.

FIELD SIZE

78 players’ maximum at each qualifying site.

FORMAT

18 hole individual stroke play qualifier. A total of 144 players will advance to the Championship proper. Qualifying places will be awarded according to a pro-rated formula.  You will be informed as to the number of qualifying places in your section the day of qualifying.

PRACTICE ROUND

One practice round per player. Practice rounds will be available on the designated times below two weeks prior to the competition. Please call the course to reserve your practice round starting time after entries close on May 18th.  Practice round cart and range fee is $30 plus tax. Cash and credit cards will be accepted.

  • Tuesday - Thursday., based on availability.
  • Friday - Sunday, after 1:00 p.m., based on availability.

BLACK tee markers and yardages will be utilized for the qualifying round. Yardages are approximate and may be adjusted due to inclement weather or other factors that may affect the playing conditions during the competition.

GOLF SHOP & DRIVING RANGE

The golf shop and driving range will open at 7:00 a.m. on the day of the qualifier.

STARTING TIMES

Starting times for tournament play will be assigned by the GSGA and posted at the club the day before the competition starts. You may visit www.gsga.org for complete pairing information and starting times beginning on May 27. 

REGISTRATION

No formal registration will be held on site. Player withdraws must be called or e-mailed to the GSGA office so that an alternate may be contacted.

CADDIES

All players must walk and carry their own bag or may use a pull cart. Caddies are specifically prohibited.  Pull carts are permitted.

RULES OF PLAY/PACE OF PLAY/CART POLICY

FOOD SERVICE

Food service will be available in the clubhouse. Cash and credit cards will be accepted.

REFUND POLICY

A $30 service charge will be retained by the GSGA on all refunds granted prior to the close of entries. Entry fees will not be refunded after entries close unless there is a waiting list and your spot can be filled. Withdraws after the close of entries must be made by calling the GSGA Rules and Competitions Department at (770) 955-4272 or (800) 949-4742 or via email. If a player notifies the GSGA of their withdrawal from a qualifier for the Amateur, Junior, Match Play or Mid-Amateur Championship after the close of entries, but one week prior to the date of their qualifier, they will be granted a refund of 50% of their entry fee.
