FIELD LIMIT
Field will be limited to the first 120 qualified players. Entries will be accepted according to the time of receipt of entry and entry fee in addition to exempt players. After 36 holes, the field will be cut to the low 60 players and ties.
ENTRY DEADLINE
Entry applications, along with the appropriate fee, must be completed or received by WA Golf by 4:30 p.m. on Monday, July 11 at 4:30 p.m..
REFUND POLICY
Refunds due to cancellation before the close of entry are subject to a $10 service charge. After the close of entry and up until round one pairings are released, players who withdraw for any reason will be refunded 50% of the entry fee. No refund for any reason will be issued after round one parings have been released.
COURSE YARDAGE
Course yardage is subject to change based on weather/course conditions. Hole-by-hole yardages are posted on the championship portal and will be emailed to players. Course Yardage: 6,443 yards, par-72
ONSITE REGISTRATION
All contestants must register in person with WA Golf at Wenatchee G&CC prior to the championship. Registration will be located outside the golf shop during the following times:
MONDAY, JULY 24: 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
TUESDAY, JULY 25: 6:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
STARTING TIMES AND PAIRINGS
Round one and two starting times will be released on Tuesday, July 18. Contestants will be re-paired by gross scores for the final round, with the leaders starting last. Preferred starting time requests will not be accepted. Starting times will be posted on the WA Golf website (WAgolf.org), on the championship portal and will be emailed to each player.
SCHEDULE
54-hole stroke play. After 36 holes, the field will be cut to the low 60 players and ties. In the event of a tie for the championship, a hole-by-hole playoff will be held immediately following play to determine the winner.
TUESDAY, JULY 25: Starting times from 7:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
WEDNESDAY, JULY 26: Starting times from 7:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
THURSDAY, JULY 27: Starting times from 7:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
PRACTICE ROUND
Contestants may play one complimentary practice round prior to the championship. Practice rounds will be available on Monday, July 24 after 1:00 p.m. for out-of-town contestants. Local contestants can play a practice round during the weekdays after the entry deadline on a space available basis as determined by the host club staff. All practice round starting times are at the discretion of the golf shop staff. Tee times must be made by calling the Wenatchee G&CC golf shop at (509) 884-7050, beginning Wednesday, July 12 after the field is set
FOOD SERVICE (NO-HOST)
Limited food service will be available in the legacy lounge on Monday, July 24 during afternoon practice rounds. The 1923 lounge located inside the clubhouse will be open from 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday – Thursday. Breakfast, lunch and snack items will be available as well as beverages.
HOSTED LUNCH
There will be a hosted meal on Tuesday, July inside the 1923 lounge between 11:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. A limited menu will be offered to players.
BOTTLED WATER
WA Golf will provide bottled water during the championship. Coolers will be at multiple locations on the golf course. A beverage cart will not be on the course during play.
METHODS OF PAYMENT
Wenatchee Golf & Country Club accepts all major credit cards and cash.
HOURS OF OPERATION
The golf shop and driving range will open from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. daily.
RANGE BALLS
Warm up range balls will be provided to contestants on the driving range before each round beginning at 6:15 a.m.
CARTS
Carts will be available to participants for $22 per day and fees for the first two rounds were collected by WA Golf during registration. Please contact WA Golf if you did not register for a cart during registration but would now like to add one prior to the championship. Carts will not be guaranteed for players who do not make a reservation during registration.
Players who registered for a cart and make the cut for the final round will be invoiced an additional $22 daily cart fee.
SPECTATOR CARTS
To provide an equal championship platform for all competitors, the use of carts by spectators is not permitted by WA Golf.
CHAMPIONSHIP ACCOMMODATIONS FOR DISABLED SPECTATORS
WA Golf is committed to providing an enjoyable spectator experience for people with disabilities at WA Golf Championships. Requests from spectators seeking transportation onto the golf course due to a permanent disability, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), should be submitted one week in advance to the WA Golf Championship Department. While spectator carts may not always be available at each site, WA Golf will make every effort to accommodate these requests when available.
Generally, an ADA covered disability is defined as a “physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more of the major life activities of the individual”. See, 42 USCA §12102. Spectators with a “temporary” injury or impairment that is not an ADA disability will not be allowed use of a golf cart under this Policy.
Spectators with transportation needs must contact the WA Golf Championship Department prior to the championship. This full policy is available at the following link: wagolf.org/policies.
PUSH CARTS
Host club pull carts will not be available. Players may provide their own pull cart.
CADDIES
Host club caddies will not be available. A player may provide his own caddie. Caddies will be required to wear a caddie bib provided on the starting tee.
PRIZES
All prizes will be awarded according to 54-hole scores (gross only). In addition to the below awards, a $5,000 merchandise payout will be distributed to top finishing players. All merchandise credit is redeemable in the Wenatchee Golf & Country Club pro shop and will remain on the books.
Champion and Runner-up: Crystal trophy
Top-10: Crystal medallion
Awards will be given to any contestant who scores a hole-in-one or eagle during the championship.
AWARDS CEREMONY
WA Golf will host an awards ceremony on Thursday, July 27 on the patio outside the 1923 Lounge immediately upon the completion of play.
EXEMPTIONS
Champion earns an exemption into the following events:
- Lifetime exemption into the Washington Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship
- 2024 Washington Champion of Champions
- 2024 Washington Men’s Amateur Championship
- 2024 Pacific Northwest Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship
PERFORMANCE POINTS LIST
Points for the Washington Men’s Mid-Amateur are allocated as follows: Champion (75), Runner-up (50), Top-5 (25), Top-10 (15) and Top-15 (5) finishers.
GHIN SCORE POSTING
WA Golf will post competition scores for all players to the USGA GHIN System.
DRESS CODE
Players and caddies must be neat in appearance with respect to personal grooming and clothing while on host club property. The WA Golf Dress Code Policy is available at the following link: wagolf.org/policies and will be provided to all players, along with any additional measures required by the host club, in the Player Memorandum.
CODE OF CONDUCT
WA Golf expects all contestants, caddies, gallery, and guests to exhibit proper conduct and behavior on the golf course and anywhere on club property during a WA Golf Championship. Unbecoming conduct or behavior may be grounds for immediate disqualification, at any time, from any WA Golf event. The following are some examples of unbecoming conduct or behavior:
- Repeated use of loud, abusive, and/or profane language
- Throwing and/or breaking equipment (club, ball, etc.) in anger or frustration
- Damaging host club, WA Golf, and/or fellow contestant property
- Public criticism or verbal abuse of host club, officials, volunteers or staff, and/or WA Golf volunteers, staff or fellow contestants
- Potential endangerment of others
- Intentionally violating stated club policy
- Violation of WA Golf Dress Code and/or Footwear Policy
- Other conduct deemed unbecoming
The Committee in charge of the competition shall be the sole judge of determining Conduct Code violations.
STROKE LIMIT POLICY
Players must return a score within 15 strokes of the course rating in at least one of the three rounds. Failure to do so will disqualify the player from entering the Washington Men's Mid-Amateur Championship for a minimum of one year.
UNOFFICIAL WITHDRAWAL
During play of the championship, a competitor who withdraws must notify WA Golf staff and fill out a withdraw form. Entrants who unofficially withdraw (by not notifying WA Golf staff or without having sufficient reason to withdraw) will not be granted entry into any future WA Golf championship for a minimum of two years.
PACE OF PLAY POLICY
Players are encouraged to be familiar with WA Golf’s Pace of Play Policy, which is in effect at all championships.
LOCAL RULES AND TERMS OF THE COMPETITION
Players are encouraged to be familiar with WA Golf’s 2023 Local Rules and Terms of the Competition, which will be in effect at all championships.
PROHIBITED USE OF AUDIO EQUIPMENT
Rule 4.3 is modified in this way: During a round, a player is not allowed to use an electronic device to listen to music or other audio (such as podcasts or the like), including by using speakers, headphones or earbuds. Penalty for breach of Local Rule - see Rule 4.3.
