156 players (60 Men, 48 Senior Men, 18 Women, 30 Senior Women)

 

ENTRY DEADLINE

Entry applications, along with the appropriate fee, must be completed or received by WA Golf by 4:30 p.m. on Monday, April 13, 2023.

 

REFUND POLICY

Refunds due to cancellation before the close of entry are subject to a $10 service charge. After the close of entry and up until round one pairings are released, players who withdraw for any reason will be refunded 50% of the entry fee. No refund for any reason will be issued after round one parings have been released.
 

COURSE YARDAGE

Course yardage is subject to change based on weather/course conditions. Hole-by-hole yardages are included at the end of this document.

Men’s Yardage: 6,715 yards, par-72

Senior Men’s Yardage: 6,298 yards, par-72

Women’s Yardage: 5,721 yards, par-72

Senior Women’s Yardage: 5,442 yards, par-72
 

ONSITE REGISTRATION

All contestants must register in person with WA Golf at The Home Course prior to the championship. Registration will be located outside the golf shop during the following times:

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 27:                                             11:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

THURSDAY, APRIL 28:                                                7:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

 

STARTING TIMES AND PAIRINGS

Round 1 starting times will be released on Thursday, April 20. Preferred starting time requests will not be accepted. Starting times will be posted on the championship portal and will be emailed to each player. Contestants will be re-paired by gross scores for the final round, with the leaders starting last.

 

SCHEDULE

36-hole stroke play (gross only). In the event of a tie for the championship, a hole-by-hole playoff will be held immediately following play to determine the winner.

                                                7:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. (Men’s and Women’s Championship)
                                               12:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. (Senior Men’s and Senior Women’s Championship)

                                               7:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. (Senior Men’s and Senior Women’s Championship)

                     12:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. (Men’s and Women’s Championship)

 

PRACTICE ROUND

Contestants may play one complimentary practice round prior to the championship. Practice rounds will be available on Wednesday, April 26 after 2:00 p.m. for out of town contestants. Local contestants can play a practice round any time on weekdays and in the afternoon on weekends in the two weeks prior on a space available basis. All practice round starting times are at the discretion of the golf shop staff. Tee times can be made by calling The Home Course golf shop at (253) 964-0520, beginning on April 14 after the entries have closed and the field is set.

 

FOOD SERVICE (NO-HOST)

Food service will be available at the snack bar window starting at 6:30 a.m. Breakfast, lunch and snack items will be available as well as beverages. Full menu service in the Golf House Grill will be available daily from 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.

 

BOTTLED WATER

WA Golf will provide bottled water during the championship. Coolers will be at multiple locations on the golf course. A beverage cart will not be on the course during play. 

 

HOSTED LUNCH

There will be a hosted meal for all competitors on Friday, April 28 inside the pavilion following play. A buffet lunch will be served between 12:00 p.m. -2:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Players can choose to eat between one of the two serving times.

 

METHODS OF PAYMENT

The Home Course accepts all major credit cards and cash as methods of payment.

 

HOURS OF OPERATION

The golf shop and the driving range will be open from 6:00 a.m. to dusk.

 

RANGE BALLS

Warm up range balls will be provided to contestants on the driving range before each round.

 

CARTS

Carts will be available for $18 per rider per day and will be collected by WA Golf during registration. Please contact WA Golf if you did not register for a cart during registration but would now like to add one.

  

SPECTATOR CARTS

To provide an equal championship platform for all competitors, the use of carts by spectators is not permitted by WA Golf. 

 

CHAMPIONSHIP ACCOMMODATIONS FOR DISABLED SPECTATORS

WA Golf is committed to providing an enjoyable spectator experience for people with disabilities at WA Golf Championships. Requests from spectators seeking transportation onto the golf course due to a permanent disability, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), should be submitted one week in advance to the WA Golf Championship Department. While spectator carts may not always be available at each site, WA Golf will make every effort to accommodate these requests when available. 

Generally, an ADA covered disability is defined as a “physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more of the major life activities of the individual”. See, 42 USCA §12102. Spectators with a “temporary” injury or impairment that is not an ADA disability will not be allowed use of a golf cart under this Policy.

 

Spectators with transportation needs must contact the WA Golf Championship Department prior to the championship. This full policy is available at the following link: wagolf.org/policies.

 

PULL CARTS

A limited number of pull carts will be available for no charge on a first come first serve basis in the golf shop.

 

CADDIES

Host club caddies will not be available. A player may provide his or her own caddie. Caddies will be required to wear a caddie bib provided on the starting tee.

 

PRIZES

All prizes will be awarded according to 36-hole, stroke play scores (gross only) in each championship.

Champion: Crystal award and merchandise credit. Other high finishers will receive merchandise credit. All merchandise credit must be redeemed in The Home Course golf shop.

 

Awards will be given to any contestant who scores a hole-in-one or eagle during the championship. 

 

AWARDS CEREMONY

WA Golf will host awards ceremonies on Friday, April 28 immediately upon completion of play in each championship.

 

EXEMPTIONS

The Champion of the Washington Men’s, Senior Men’s, Women’s and Senior Women’s Champion of Champions will earn an exemption into the 2024 Washington Champion of Champions at The Home Course in DuPont, Wash.

 

PERFORMANCE POINTS LIST

Points for the Men’s Champion of Champions are allocated as follows: Champion (50), Runner-up (25), Top-5 (10), and Top-10 (5) finishers

 

Points for the Senior Men’s Champion of Champions are allocated as follows: Champion (30), Runner-up (15), and Top-5 (5) finishers
 

Points for the Women’s Champion of Champions are allocated as follows: Champion (25), Runner-up (10), and Top-5 (5) finishers

**Points may be adjusted based on field size

 

Points for the Senior Women’s Champion of Champions are allocated as follows: Champion (15), Runner-up (10), and Top-5 (5) finishers

 

GHIN SCORE POSTING

WA Golf will post competition scores for all players to the USGA Ghin System.

 

DRESS CODE

Players and caddies must be neat in appearance with respect to personal grooming and clothing while on host club property. The WA Golf Dress Code Policy is available at the following link: wagolf.org/policies and will be provided to all players, along with any additional measures required by the host club, in the Player Memorandum.

 

CODE OF CONDUCT

WA Golf expects all contestants, caddies, gallery, and guests to exhibit proper conduct and behavior on the golf course and anywhere on club property during a WA Golf Championship. Unbecoming conduct or behavior may be grounds for immediate disqualification, at any time, from any WA Golf event. The following are some examples of unbecoming conduct or behavior:

  • Repeated use of loud, abusive, and/or profane language
  • Throwing and/or breaking equipment (club, ball, etc.) in anger or frustration
  • Damaging host club, WA Golf, and/or fellow contestant property
  • Public criticism or verbal abuse of host club, officials, volunteers or staff, and/or WA Golf volunteers, staff or fellow contestants
  • Potential endangerment of others
  • Intentionally violating stated club policy
  • Violation of WA Golf Dress Code and/or Footwear Policy
  • Other conduct deemed unbecoming

 

The Committee in charge of the competition shall be the sole judge of determining Conduct Code violations.

 

 

UNOFFICIAL WITHDRAWAL

During play of the championship, a competitor who withdraws must notify WA Golf staff and fill out a withdraw form. Entrants who unofficially withdraw (by not notifying WA Golf staff or without having sufficient reason to withdraw) will not be granted entry into any future WA Golf championship for a minimum of two years.

 

PACE OF PLAY POLICY

Players are encouraged to be familiar with WA Golf’s Pace of Play Policy, which is in effect at all championships.

 

LOCAL RULES AND TERMS OF THE COMPETITION

Players are encouraged to be familiar with WA Golf’s 2023 Local Rules and Terms of the Competition, which will be in effect at all championships.

 

PROHIBITED USE OF AUDIO EQUIPMENT

Rule 4.3 is modified in this way: During a round, a player is not allowed to use an electronic device to listen to music or other audio (such as podcasts or the like), including by using speakers, headphones or earbuds. Penalty for breach of Local Rule - see Rule 4.3.
