REFUND POLICY: Entry fee will be refunded regardless of reason if LGA office is notified, in writing, before the close of entries. After the close of entries, fee will be refunded only in the event of injury or illness provided notification (accompanied by a doctor’s statement) reaches LGA office by July 24, 2023. A $25 service charge will be deducted from all refunds.
Eligibility: Entries are open to any junior who is an amateur golfer (as defined by the USGA) and is a member of the Louisiana Junior Golf Tour. Entrants must be 11 years of age by midnight, July 25, 2023, and cannot have reached their 19th birthday by midnight, July 26, 2023. Non-amateurs are not eligible. Entries are subject to rejection at any time (including during the championship) by the LGA. Reasons for rejection may include unbecoming conduct.
Field/Format of Play: Limited to the first 78 entries. Participants must choose to enter the appropriate divsion (Overall Boys (13-18), Boys (11-13) or Overall Girls (13-18)) The Overall Boys' division will compete from approximately 6,600 yards. The Overall Girls' and Boys' (11-13) will compete from a forward tee approximately 5,700 yards. Participants must declare his/her participation in the division which they intend to compete during registration.
Dress Code: Competitors must be neat in appearance and wear appropriate attire. No gym shorts, cutoffs, blue jeans, tee shirts, etc. Shorts must be Bermuda length. Important Note: East Ridge CC is a spikeless facility and all competitors will be required to wear spikeless shoes.
Practice Privileges: Practice privileges are extended to participants in the David Toms Junior Championship at East Ridge CC on July 24, 2023.
Prizes: Crystal prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in the Overall Boys' division. The Girls' Champion and runner-up will receive a crystal prize. The top two finishers in the Boys' 11-13 division will receive a crystal prize. A medal will be awarded to the top finisher aged 15-and-under in the Overall Boys' division.
AJGA PBE Points: The Boys' 14-18 Division have the opportunity to earn AJGA Performance Stars.
Champion: 4 Performance Stars
Top 10% of the field: 1 Perfomance Star
Louisiana Junior Player of the Year Points: Louisiana Junior Player of the Year points will be allocated at this event.
Rules of Golf: Play will be governed by the current USGA Rules of Golf and LGA Rules of Play Card. All questions will be settled by the LGA Rules Committee, whose decision will be final. Automotive transportation (carts) and/or caddies will not be permitted. Caddies: Competitors will not be permitted to use caddies. All participants will carry their own clubs. Pull carts will be permitted. Max Score: The Boys 11-13 Division will play a Maximum Score of 10 for all competitive rounds.
